Please help me decided which to buy Geely CK vs SMA Maple 303

Hello dear friends ,

My name is Kareem , I live in Cairo ,Egypt a country that imports many chinese cars including :

Geely ( and SMA )
Chery ( Windcloud and QQ )
Hafei ( Lobo and mini )
BYD ( Flyer )
Brilliance

I am currently looking for my first car , and it should not be more than $11,000 , for that price , these are the following cars available here ( note : cars are alot more epxensive in egypt because of the national TAX that is being put on them ) .

Non chinese cars :

2005 Hyundai Accent ( THe old shape , not the new one - compiled in egypt )
1.5L - 70HP - Power steering - A/C -FM/cassette- no other features

2006 Fiat Palio 2 ( Fiat Brazilian car )
1.3L 73HP - Power Steering - A/C - no cassette or other features

2005 Proton Wira ( malysian ) ( discontinued car in Proton )
1.5L 94HP - power steering - a/c - power windows - 14" sport wheels - central locking - fm/cassette

Chinese cars :

2005 Geely CK-1 ( CK in china )
1.6L - 107HP - Power Steering - ABS/EBD - 6Speakers - CD/FM/Cassette
Remote Control - Central Locking - Power windows - Power Mirrors - 14" sport wheels - adjustable driving wheel - 2 ciggarette lighters :P

2005 Geely/Sma Maple 303 ( Marindo 303 ?? )
1.5L - 94HP - Power Steering - ABS/EBD - CD/FM/Cassette
- Central Locking - Power windows - Power Mirrors - 14" sport wheels - adjustable driving wheel .


2005 Chery Windcloud
1.6L - unknown


all of the above car are selling at the same price $10 to $11,500

i like both of the ck and the 303 maple
but I cant chose which one

I like the features of the CK and the design of the Maple altho I know that ck should be better since it will be in usa in year 2007/2008

ANY HELP ?

I personally would get Ck-1, more luxourious car of the 3

I'm no expert but I would choose also Geely CK-1. :)

More power, more standard equipments, latest design and newer body construction.

I visited Symex Automotive today ( the Geely official distributor here )

and took a very detailed look at the following :

Geely Fruitah ( HQ in china ) 1.1
Geely Sparky ( Ulion in China ) 1.4
Geely Coupe' ( Beauty Leopard in china ) 1.6
SMA Maple ( Maple Marindo 303 in china ) 1.5
Geely CK-1 ( Geely CK in china ) 1.6


the Geely CK-1 and Maple looked to me like the only cars worth buying

the rest , no offence , but looked like complete junk on wheels ... altho whats inspiring is thier standard features/equipment

you can see the Fruittah or HQ alot here , but only because of its low price ($5500 i think ) and the Chery QQ .

the Problem is , is the most famous car here is the Chery A150 ( or the Chery Windcloud ) beause of its 1.6 AWL engine and its Seat Toledo design.

but its very very very UGLY to me , I mean the ck looks alot better
Altho the CK from some angles ... LOOKS REALLLY OUT OF PROPORTIONS ... or strange proportions , but for $10,500 I can't really complian about that , can I ? :P

it comes with a 3 years waranty or 50,000 KM
the first 1,000 & 3,000 Mantaiance are free of charge .

I think I might actualy buy that CK this week :D

Choosing between Chery and Geely is like choosing between Toyota and Nissan. Chery has more government backing and resources and so from an endurance viewpoint it might be better to skip the hot styling.

I'm sorry I can't help you, I am not familiar with any of these cars, but probably the CK looks like the best buy. I don't know about Geely's quality though.

No I didn't buy the CK or the A-11 , in fact I didn't buy any car till now , I only booked a Fiat Palio 1.2 ( Italian Brazilian Car )
which happens to be getting BUILT in china as well ( in some chinese factory over there ) :D

Altho its not chinese , but it comes from there :D

I used to own a Fiat 131 and I loved it - you get this car in Egypt to this day as the El Nasr, though now I think it's actually made in Turkey. A great old RWD design with excellent handling that's available cheap...

the only ones are still being built are The Fiat 128 " Nasr 128 "
Fiat Regata ( Dogan Shahin )

but these new Fiats are imported from brazil/china , has nothing to do with these old ones .

and they are not cheap my car ( The 1.2 Fiat Palio ) costs the same as the OLD re-built Fiat regata , which is totally BOX on WHEELS :D
