chechnya 02-28-2006, 12:19 AM Wow. Im glad North American safety is top priority in all of their cars.
fm.illuminatus 03-24-2006, 02:25 AM Lol, was it going 10 or 15 mph?
I_Hate_China 03-24-2006, 02:04 PM Haha, LOL i think you are giving it too much credit, maybe it was in park
ive seen much worse than this with american pics like Civics and escorts
at least i can recognize this car after the crash:p
fm.illuminatus 03-29-2006, 08:24 PM Usually riced out civics raced by kids smashed in to trees at 120 mph.
Damn whippersnappers and their Civics!!!
*Raises his cane in protest*
oo4load 03-30-2006, 09:59 AM Looks like it's on a test track. (curved road in the back is at an angle, no license plates on car)
And the crash was not an accident, it was staged. (no paramedics, no blood, no driver, no-one was driving it it seems).
Let me show you some pics of european and US cars from the not too distant past:
The #1 all american F150, built untill 2003 :thumb:

Renault Clio

And many more can be found on the EURO NCAP site.
Now take a look at the QQ, same test, same speed:

Even though the door opened almost immediately it's body is't crumpled as much as the above cars. An hey, the steering wheel is still attached. If you equip it with an airbag it would score half as bad. Considering Chinese cars are built without euro/us legislation in mind I think it's remarkable.
The person inside that thing would still be killed regardless...
fightingtorque 04-19-2006, 09:20 AM the post crash QQ with it's sill almost on the deck and wheels tucked up into the arches shows it could look good with the suspension dropped an inch or two though.
hazik 04-23-2006, 02:44 AM Usually riced out civics raced by kids smashed in to trees at 120 mph.
What's a riced out civic? A honda Civic that runs on rice. I've heard of cars powered by vegatable oil but never heard of a car powered by rice. What's next cars powered by mcdonalds hamburgers.
"The term rice burner or rice car or ricer most often refers to automobiles (usually economy cars) that have the appearance of a high performance car, but often have little or no functional modifications applied, such as an improved engine, suspension, or brakes. This practice is in contrast to the "stealth" or "sleeper" style of automotive modification, where a vehicle may have major internal modifications for greater performance, but the appearance remains similar to that of a stock model. Almost any vehicle can be modified in this manner, but the most common vehicles are usually the sport compact models from most major automakers..."

egytuner 09-05-2006, 02:52 PM well it seems to me like the car cramped in every single point of the body  , nothing is left!? is it made of paper? , i mean if it hits a tree, a wall, another car.... it wont get damaged in this way!

I always presumed the term was related to the fact that in the US, the sport compacts in question are mainly japanese cars, and the general western preconception about all asian countries is that the people eat mainly rice.
imoto 10-16-2006, 02:49 AM The fact is QQ was never tested by NCAP. That's a fake test.
Its not a fake test, its just done in Russia and not by Euro NCAP. Anyway,
it doesn't say anything about safety in chinese cars b/c its only a copied Chevolet Spark/Daewoo Matiz, designed in (south) Korea by GM Daewoo, then copied by Chery.
Alfist-GTV6 11-26-2006, 10:57 AM ?man, talking about the Matiz.
The Matiz isn't designed in (South) Korea.
The design was a proposal from ItalDesign for FIAT.
As i heard it was a design proposal for the successor of the Chinquecento.
Search google for ItalDesign Lucciola.
Here's a link to an image of the concept:
http://br.geocities.com/capri7004/lucciola.jpg
But anyway, back on-topic.
About that Lifan, you can still recognize the car.
It's impressive how fast these blokes are learning, already a diference with the Landwind.
That car was a real deathtrap, was even sold here in NL for a short time.
cryptonx 12-16-2006, 04:23 PM THIS MAN IS SAYING THE TRUTH :d
the Original Daewoo Matiz is NOT a SOUTH KOREAN design , in fact it wasnt even a SOUTH KOREAN CAR in the first place
Fiat started the PROJECT called "Cencaio" or something like that not sure , and it was designed in Italy and they even SHOWED a concept version of it .
Then fiat went into troubles with thier current lineup and during the lines .. the design was either sold or given up to Daewoo , who just COMPLETED the production of the car .
4*real*Made_in_China 12-30-2006, 10:54 AM Ouch.
