8-20K? that's a big range.

*sigh* chinese cars will not work unless they are decent and CHEAP. the price is what will get US consumers interested. no doubt about that. especially younger people looking to get a lot of value (like me).

IN China it sells for around $14000 USD, I dont' think they are gonna sell for anything cheaper than that in the states.

I own a landmark GX automatic for about a year now and it's running good. I had to change the water tank but other than that, it's quite robust. It sells cheaper than corolla in China but I feel it's much more comfy and safer than a sedan of similar price range. This is the 2nd Chinese car I've bought and so far i'm quite satisfied overall. The 1st chery i bought was a pure disaster! I wont give them another look for another 20 years.

The only thing bothers me is the humming sound when you reach around 80 kilo/hr point. It disappears over 80 kilo though. For a 2.4L engine, it's also quite a gas guzzler, mine is running 15-16 liters per 100 kilo. Traffic in china sucks i know, but still it's quite a lot of gas for this car. I had to change brake pads for just under 15000 kilos. Dunno if it's got something to do with the high gas mileage. The noise from engine gets louder too than when it was new.

This car is just started to hit the egyptian market yesterday, it's CKD assembled locally but they gave another name KOMODO.
Its price is ranging from 124,000 EGP (22,550 USD) for 2X4 M/T L model to 159,000 EGP (28,900 USD) for 4X4 A/T VLX model which comes fully loaded.
Its warranty is the longets I heared about in Egypt 5 years or 100,000 Km which comes first, and in the same time it's an international warranty working in several countries that have services centers for this car.
The egyptian dealer (AUTOGATE) annouced that it will be exported to other countries in the middle east including GCC countries.

The problem to this car in the Egyption market that it's such all Chineese cars her : 1- spare parts not coverage all the car parts .
2- there's not qualifiedservice senter/or even work shop to maintain car performance.
Is there any gurantee to buy it.
What i'm saying tat I'm suffering with my CHERRY car of those problemes above. Thank.

I second with the repair problem. I owned a chevy and I know how hard it can be, even though I am in China!!
landmark is remarkably reliable for a chinese car though.
I took it to the roughest road in southern china and rode with another toyota land cruiser. Landmark did just fine!!!

In China, its a 2.4L mitsubishi 4G64.

Welcome to chinacarforums alby13

The importer CHAMCO, has consistently been quoting a price of just under $14,000 to its prospective dealers. Seemed too low to be true to me. But now its management has suffered a serious split and is bogged down in a lawsuit that it will have to resolve before it can finally bring them into the U.S..

Zhongxing management must now be questioning their choice of a U.S. representative.

Grandtheft and M_A_Gamal we thank you for the excellent feedback on this (struggling) Chinese manufacturer.

grandtheft
04-15-2008, 03:40 AM
yeah i heard about the fight inside CHAMCO.
Poor Zxauto, I wouldn't have totally trusted MY future with a foreign partner. I'd rather hire a local team in the states to be my employees, not partners. So I stay in control.
zxauto factory makes very good cars, :thumb: but I don't think much of their their marketing and sales. With a setback like this, I dont think you would see landmark for sale in the states any time soon.

Any Questions?

Hi Dauren
Yes, I have a few:
1.At 100 kph on the highway how quiet and smooth-riding is it? Is it free of vibrations?
2. Does the heater work well in cold weather?
3. Are you happy with the ease of steering when in the tight corners of the city?
4. Did the interior have unpleasant odors after you purchased it? If the answer is yes, did the odors go away soon after?

Thank you.

Dauren
03-24-2009, 01:59 AM
1. Actually some noises come out at 110-130 kph. but i haven't any noise reduction kits, i mean all in my car is "as is".
2. Heater works normally in -20 C. no problems.
3. Happy.
4. No. i haven't smell any unpleasant odors.

P.S. sorry for late answer, i was in vaction.

Try to compare with Mitsubishi L200 in minimum packaging. it will cost more than ZX Landmark but interior is worse.
and it will not contain CD player. only casette. no electrified windows, no alloy wheels, no leather seats.

i think Landmark's price is very good for his capabilities. It's very cheap.

it's only IMHO.
P.S. i'm comparing this cars in Kazakhstan, so if you can find better car in your region for 20 000$ tell me, please. it's very interesting.

P.S. by the way SsangYong cars is most compareable with Landmark in this price range. I'm agree with that.

Dauren one question. How long you have this car and what you think are the pros and cons,is it 4x4 , have you tried going up, is it smooth.
I wait for your comments

Dauren
04-08-2009, 05:27 AM
i'm using this car almost 2 years.
yes it is Part-time 4x4 (in normal conditions it's using rear wheels and on mud, snow, slippery roads you can use all 4 whhel) with 4H (for most bad road conditions) and 4L (excellent for extreme mud, deep snow and mounting) capabilities.

I'm not shure what you mean with "...have you tried going up, is it smooth..."

+: full packaging from factory
+: ABS, EBD
-: you can't turn off ABS
+: alloy wheels 16"
-: bad tyre type from "maxxiss"
+: immobilizer
+: with remote control for door opening and alarm system
-: very short working distance of remote control: ~ 15 m
+: cheap price
+: ability to use spare parts from Mitsubishi Pajero(Montero) sport
+: motor and running gear from Mitsubishi
+: good design
-+: 13-15 liers for 100km (it's good for me)
+: good light at night
-: no factory xenon lights
+: for lights very good.
+: 2 airbags
+: good interior (IMHO)
+: i like mechanical gearbox, it's operating very good, easy to select.
-: no LSD or other type of locking differentials...
+: low gear.
+: all whhel drive
-: not good automatic hubs. manual hubs is better (for example AVM-443)
-: part time 4x4 you must turn on/off depending road conditions
+: :) part time 4x4 you can reduce gasoline consumption and gear wearing. and you always know is it turned off or turned on!
+: very good passability on muds and snow (but experience of driving in muds is also needed :)
+: not bad CD/am/fm player
-:no mp3
+: good voice of speakers
+: excellent view of road and from mirrors.
-: i haven't parking radars in packaging.
i can write many other examples, but i can say that "+" is more that "-"!

This car is costs his price! IMHO its more cheaper than his capabilities.
i like it very much!

Yes, i'm from Kazakhstan!

I'm using it 70% in the town 30% on places where no roads present.

we don't have big hills, to mount on it.. but i tried to scramble to little ones ~ 5-6 metres and at an angle of 15-25 degrees on clear weather - it goes well on 2 rear wheels without any problem! on rainy day, when ground is mud i'm using 4x4Low gear... on 1st or 2nd drive... again, met no problems. but you must drive veeery slow when moving on that kind of road..

Dauren
04-09-2009, 03:00 AM
for now i never tried to fix something in my car and never purchased any spare patrts.. cuz it still nothing demaged. but people from russian forum changing and using parts from MMC L200 and Pajero without any problem...

Dauren
04-09-2009, 03:03 AM
P.S when i'm scrambling, to hill on mud i always truy to give more acceleration before the hill, because on one moment tyres become sticked with mud and starts slipping... i'm not changed my tyres from factory default.. :(

Dauren
04-09-2009, 03:08 AM
driving is good. tried to drive on 140 kmph - very noisy, but steering wheel have some kind of reactive force - on high speed it becomes a little bit tighter that on little sppeds... it really helps.

max speed i've got is 140 kmph... some other people got max 160 (max for this car by default).

in the city traffic i can't say that he's slow... i got a short street racing with Toyota Prado and Camry's. i won :} but it was hard.

About spare parts. no i didn't.

Service from dealer is on moderate level... but anyway i can't say more cuz i 've got only one time machine maintenance when my odometer was 10 000 km. But they are only dealer, not direct branch of ZX...

This is the worst car I drove in the last 30 years. It burns a looooooot of fuel. it has many malfunctions. I bought it and drove it 8000 Km of which 2000 Km to the service station and finally i sold it and lost 5000 US$ . it is very very bad car. The service station is very very bad. The assemble the car underneath the stair case and repair it in the dirties service station ever found . all these happened in Egypt

It's quiet outdated.

At least, it's a proof that Zhongxing is still alive. Because I haven't heard from them since the failed Chamco deal.

It's quiet outdated.

At least, it's a proof that Zhongxing is still alive. Because I haven't heard from them since the failed Chamco deal.

Brilliance sold its stake in the company in 2003 and the Huaxiang Group sold its stake in 2004, but it seems the Taiwan United Leaders Holding company is somehow keeping the company afloat. Although the deal to assemble in Russia from CKD kits, failed, reports are that such assembly sites are operational in Egypt, Poland, Vietnam, Jordan and maybe Iran.

And it's said that in Taiwan the Grand Tiger pickup sells quite well.

Without a strong injection of foreign capital such as Hawtai gets, I don't see how Zhongxing can survive much longer. It apparently gets no help from the central government, as do companies like Chery, Chang'an and Lifan.

I believe that all the small SUV makers in China are on a dead end.

Big SUV makers (Great Wall, Landwind, Nissan-Zhengzhou...) are getting really agressive. Small manufacturer's product are outdated and they can't match the leaders.

Gonow and ChangFeng were saved by GAQ. It seems that ZX Auto, after a failed deal with ChangAn, doesn't interest anybody.

Poland company have some work with ZX Auto, they even produce it there:

Production of ZX Grandtigers started in the former trucks factory in Lublin. Pol-Mot Warfama, the official producer of Chinese pickups announced that the first batch of twenty cars will assemble by the turn of the year - according to Kurier Lubelski. ZX Grandtiger will compete mainly with Tata and Isuzu, which were designed primarily for hard work in the accidental terrain. The producer ensures that the service network cover whole Poland.

"We are going to make an official Grand Tiger’s presentation after one month - said Mariusz Lewandowski, a Pol-Mot Warfama spokesman. We predict the basis version of Grand Tiger will cost around $60,000 with tax. This car is destined for agriculture, sanitation department or service companies as a workhorse" - Lewandowski explained.

The company has European homologation and a special agreement with Chinese maker more than a year. The most important is fact that the license agreement gives polish company exclusive rights to sell Chinese pickup not only in Poland, but also in other EU markets.

Warfama employs thirty workers in Lublin at present and also has plan to start produce Turkish tractors with 150 hp engine and it's going to employ another workers in future.

The turn of the year... I take that to mean no production until 2011.
Originally the plan was to begin producing the Grand Tiger in Lublin from September 2008. And so it has taken some time to get this venture off the ground.

I believe the Grand Tiger, and the Landmark, were introduced in 2005. Could we agree that it seems high time for a new generation of Zhongxing vehicles?

I thaught that Pol-Mot Warfame gave up their plan of a CKD Zhongxing in order to concentrate on importing the Roewe 750 and 550...

Oh,what a bad news!Sometimes change comes so quickly, and stop CKD is a great loss for dealers.

Warfama started to sell this vehicle in June 2011, but the price is not too suitablefor polish market IMO. The car is targeting farmers and small business, but the pickups of Toyota, Mitsubishi and Nissan cost the similar price

Hello to everyone I'm from Ukraine... Does anyone have technical information about this landmark car? I mean what is like? Does it build on the Mitsubishi Pajero base? or what? Also I see that many SUVs in China use 4G64 engine... who produce this engine in China? I'm very interested in this SUV
Thank you in advance

60000 USD is unreal for this pik-up... In Ukraine you could buy L200 and the price is near 26000 USD

it's wrong price written here, price should be in poland value, about engine...well plenty of chinese cars are based on chassis and engines from mitsubishi, which are produced by mitsubishi partner in china, shenyang mitsubishi aerospace engine ltd, it's a old base engine, but good and reliable
