The car should hit the market in the first half of 2011. According to Chinese sources it is based on current Mercedes B-class and powered by new 1.5 litre turbocharged engine. We can also expect electric and hatchback versions.

The Beijing Auto C30 is based on the current Mercedes Benz B-class that will be discontinued soon. Benz didn’t sell as many as expected, Beijing Auto thinks it can do better. Benz for sure is happy to get rid of the factory-machinery and even get some money for it, although it is unclear how much. Beijing Auto and Mercedes Benz have a joint venture together, Beijing Benz, that makes the Mercedes C and E-class. The C30 however is all for Beijing Auto herself.

The C30 will debut in early 2011, a sedan-version is on its way and that one is an originial since Benz never dared. Power comes from a new ‘T-Power 150′ engine. 1.5 litre, tubocharged, 121kw and 225nm.

B Class meets Mitsubishi ASX (RVR/Outlander Sport). The prestige of a BAW and the prices of a Mercedes-Benz won't be an effective combination, so I suppose the prices will be a lot more reasonable, that means less than a comparable Volkswagen Touran.

Beijing Auto BC301Z Launched in China

Production of the Beijing Auto BC301Z, formerly known as C30, started on December 26th at a new factory in the city of Zhuzhou in Hunan Province. The Mercedes B-class inspired car will compete in the small hacthback segment and costs between 50.000 and 70.000 yuan.

Size: 4038×1720x1500, wheelbase is 2500. Engines are sourced from Mitsubishi. 1.3l gasoline engine developes 99hp and 126nm while 1.5l engine has 113hp and 141nm.
