China and India will both someday be industrial giants. Both have growing car industries too. So, which is better, Indian cars (e.g.-Tata, Maruti, Hindustan, Mahindra and Mahindra, etc...) or Chinese cars (e.g.- Chery, Geely, Hafei, etc...). And, which one will have better success in the US (and Europe)?

Right now, China is ahead of India. But I wouldn't be surprised to see India getting up to world standards in about 20 years, especially when its auto market matures.

China is way ahead and will continue to be. the only experience with indian cars has been the tata line and many moons ago we said "ta taaaa" and sent them back to india.

And yet India may beat China to the US market...

Of course China is doing better than India right now; a head start by 15 years will ensure that - just like how the S. Koreans had a 20 year head start on the Chinese.
