Does any one know what happened to this model? in the geely int'l website w/ch hazik posted in a different thread, the HQ was still listed as a model.

our company was in serious negotiations w/geely in 2005 to introduce the HQ to the philippine market. we agreed on a price, imported 2 units to show our dealers, & then geely dropped a bomb on us-they said that the HQ would be discontinued beginning 2007. turns out not to be true after all since the HQ is still in their lineup.

Dont take my advice as golden right now, but I did a quick search on baidu and found this link, this one saying the Geely 300 series (inc HQ) (http://www.che168.com/article/html/200506/20050629/20050629_93119_1.html) has stopped production, the article is dated 2005.

Perhaps they were being lazy and didnt alter their line up? I thought the Mei Ri /Merrie was produced with the intention of eventually replacing the older, boxier looking HQ. Ill investigate more in the morning. Im still suffering from New Years eve + wedding day parties.

geely told us that the HQ line would be phased out in favor of the CK. this was in nov., 2005. in feb.,2006 i read in an article in the shanghai daily that big cities were lifting their restrictions on cars w/ engines of less than 1000cc. previously, they would not allow these on city streets due to traffic congestion. from that time on, sales of small cars jumped more than 100% from month to month. that's probably why geely decided to keep their HQ going.

we still have the 2 HQs we imported, & i'm wondering if, for 2007, they have made some improvements.
