The Buick GL8 is a minivan sold by General Motors' Buick division in China. Released in 2000, the GL8 is essentially a rebadged Pontiac Montana. Many people tend to think the Buick Terraza was Buick's first minivan, since the GL8 is exclusively sold in the Chinese market. It was redesigned for 2005; however, it has a more aerodynamic and futuristic look than its American counterparts, the Buick Terraza, the Chevrolet Uplander, the Pontiac Montana, and the Saturn Relay.

the buick gl8 is essentially a rebadged pontiac montana or chevrolet venture. it was gm's attempt to break into the lucrative commercial passenger van market in china (tourist, long haul taxi, hotel shuttle) w/ an upmarket label. it is being produced & sold under the SAIC-GM joint venture in china.

As new Buick's MPV is also on its way that means GM will be selling both cars simultaniously.

Together with all-new GL8 Shanghai GM also presented updated previous generation minivan. The car is powered by 2.4l engine and is available in two trim leves. Prices are set at RMB 228.000 for GL8 CT and at RMB 248.000 (GL8 2.4 LT).
