Looks like a modified version of the CV9. I read somewhere that in 2008 Chang'an plans a hybrid version of this model.

I wonder if Chang'an is among the ones Bricklin is talking to about his plug-in model dream.

hello m14: Chang'an CV 11 is the same vehicle as the Jiangling Landwind Fashion CV 9: only with a different front end. They are twinned.
And Chang'an showed this logo for the first time at the Beijing Autoshow, on the Benben (CV 6).
greetings

Hi Laofan,
Are these MPV's also CV9's with yet a different nose? (left photo)
(Looks like they are in a test fleet parking lot somewhere)

And I thought this was what the rear of the Fashion looked like? (right photo)
It's different from the CV11 above posted by Cryptonx.

Chang'an has quite a few MPVs big and small, and it can be a bit confusing sorting them all out.

Ben Ben, Raimondi, Fengshang, Fashion,Yufeng, etc.

Hello!

Is CV11 indeed just rebadged Landwind Fashion? The rear is completely different. And why does the complany claim that CV11 is Changan's first self-developed MPV? Why is coorperation with Landwind never mentioned?

CV11 (Jiexun) is China's first local brand hybrid vehicle:

December 13, 2007 – China’s first local brand hybrid vehicle Jiexun rolled off assembly in Changan Automobile today, Chinese media reported today.

"It took us 6 years to develop this hybrid and it marks the beginning of mass production of hybrid vehicles at our company today," said Xu Liuping, the president of Changan Automobile at a celebration ceremony. “We will donate 10 Jiexun hybrid vehicles to the Olympics Games next year.”

The hybrid vehicle can save up to 20 percent fuel consumption compared with conventional vehicles and its tailpipe emission can meet EU-IV standards, the report said.

"The volume production of Jiexun indicates that China has grasped core technologies of hybrid vehicles,” Xu said.

Changan Automobile plans to invest 300 million yuan ($40.7 million) to achieve more breakthroughs in hybrid technology and realize volume production.

Martin, please tell us the source of this interesting article.

Hello!

The CV11 is said to be a self developed model with IPR. But it was also reported that Italian design house I.DE.A, had a hand in it. Chang'an had 112 patents awarded to it by the Chinese patent office.

As I think you are now aware Landwind is partly owned by Chang'an.

Can we call the Hybrid version a CV11 if the original self developed CV11 is a gas engine model? Maybe it has another number. Anyway it will probably not be known as anything but the Jiexun HEV.

Now I look forward to learning about what type of hybrid powerplant the Jiexun has, i.e. series, parallel arrangement, etc..

State-owned OEM Changan Automobile group has begun production of China's first hybrid car, according to Xinhua, the Beijing government-controlled news agency.

Changan, which unveiled the Jiexun Hybrid as a prototype with a 2.0-litre gasoline engine at the Shanghai motor show in April 2007, said at the time that the vehicle, also known as the CV11, would be priced between the equivalent of US$12,000 and US$19,000.

Production of the conventional CV11 started at the OEM's Yudong plant in March 2007, having debuted at the 2003 Shanghai motor show as the Changan MPV concept. The seven-seater minivan was designed by Italy's IDEA.

While the OEM is yet to provide information on the new production version's powertrain, the conventional CV11 is powered by a 136hp (102kW) 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine developed jointly by Changan and powertrain design and development firm FEV. The CV11 is 4445mm long, 1768mm wide and 1640mm high.

Sales of the Toyota Prius, until now the main hybrid model assembled and sold in China, have been slow since it was introduced two years ago. According to a report in Japan's Nikkei daily, only 299 units of the Prius were sold in the first ten months of 2007. This is due mostly to its steep Yuan 300,000 (US$40,652) price tag, though gasoline is also extremely cheap in China compared to most countries.

Unlike other markets, neither provincial governments nor the authorities in Beijing offer incentives to consumers for hybrid vehicles.

Changan has announced only indicative pricing for the Jiexun Hybrid, stating that a ballpark figure of Yuan 150,000 can be expected, roughly Yuan 20,000 more than the gasoline-only version.

Changan is yet to release images of the production version of this former concept, nor has it stated a date for the start of sales, claiming only that ten cars will be demonstrated at the Olympic Games in summer 2008.

Changan Auto to sell 1,000 Jiexun-HEVs in 2009.

April 3, 2009 - Changan Automobile, China's fourth-largest automaker, will put its self-developed hybrid-power sedan Jiexun-HEV onto the market in May. The company aims to sell 1,000 Jiexun-HEV this year, said Renyong, vice general manager of Changan's new energy auto subsidiary, to Shanghai Securities News.

This hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) model of Changan Auto is the first in production in China featuring the all-domestic hybrid drive system technology.

With a development period of six years, the car had finally become a mass-produced model with world-class technologies, Ren said. Now the automaker is prepared to manufacture ten Jiexun-HEVs for China's State Council, the cabinet.

It is reported that Changan Auto beat two other domestic automakers to win the order when the government announced to buy ten hybrids for promoting new energy cars one month ago.

The new Jiexun-HEV sedan has been developed using China's own intellectual property rights for the engine, hybrid power system and the car as a whole, and that is why Changan can win the bid, according to Ren.

The automaker now is busy in talks with potential partners for promoting its hybrid technologies. Apart from cooperation talks with Chongqing Bus Company for using sedan hybrid technology in bus, Changan Auto will start international cooperation with US-based Ford to provide hybrid products for the US automaker.

The report said another unnamed American company is likely to jointly build a new energy venture with Changan Auto, in order to develop Changan's Yuexiang pure electic model.
