Here is a picture of my new hover,this hover in now equiped with abs,ebd,dual airbags and new gray interior,also have LPG sistem,2007 year,for now i have 6000 km,and car goes great!

i only modified the signs on the vehicles,instead of cuv and abd+ebd sign i put GWM and 2.4 with 4wd,i hope that you all like it,bye

Here in Europe ABS is something obvious. We don't have to warn drivers behind that our vehicles is equiped with it so they better keep distance :p

By the way is Chrysler 300 M also yours?

For other forum users: I'm quite suprised that Chinese vehicles are being sold in so many countires all over the world. In Western Europe they are available only in Italy and Netherlands and (in my oppinion) to expensive for what they offer. For example check this comparison test published in Auto Bild:

With such uncompetitive pricing they won't be very successful. I hope they are cheaper in other countires.

dear micodelja, you say that you also have a LPG system in your car.Did you let it installed after you bought the car or is it original from production?
and are you satisfied with your LPG ?

yes very well,i install it,i put the bottle on the under the car so the trunk is empty,it's consuption is 14-15 liters of LPG or 12 on gasoline,but i never drive it on gasoline anymore

i am sorry but i didn't understand what you want to ask me,today i was at a highway...i drive max speed of 175 on lpg,when i put on gasoline i drive 180 km/h max,also the acelleration is little bit slower on lpg...but still you can go quick,i drive it today on country road on 4wd,the car have very good traction...and goes very well,also i try to drive that road only on rear drive,and i was little bit slower,only beacuse i must breake before turns,on 4wd..i just pass...for now i am very satisfied,the old model which i have didn't have abs and airbags,now i little bit funny to me to brake with the car...because abs works,on old hover he brake like magget!!! hehe

first of all GWM don't have LEGAL distribution in BULGARIA! it was a try from i call it "internet buyers",they buy cars on the internet and then sell them,but the problem start when you do the registration when you must have certifikates...so they failed,many of them try to sell vehicles which they buy on the internet but those vehicles isn't adodpted to european laws

ONLY EUROPEAN COUNTRIES WHICH IS SELLING GWM IS ITALY,CROATIA,BOSNIA! You have also in belarus,russia,ukrania,rumania but the laws isn't the same,so that vehicles are different,the vehicles which are in european union have different homolgation!

i buy my hover in croatia from direct and official distributur,directly from china, i have the warranty on vehicle and all,i pay it here 26000 euros registrated with LPG sistem on it

lpg is 0,30 cents,fuel gasoile is 1,10 euro

yes...it come from the GWM beacuse of homolgation rules here in croatia

every real off road vehicle have 2 sticks,hover is suv...but on off road have really great skills

still in our market all know those cars as "chinese vehicles"...not we are doing brand...people here know chinese cars as unsaftey (landwind and brilliance fiasko at crash test) and then compare our cars with them

but we go with our vehicles on promotions, off road meting, car shows and prezent them as Great Wall, by end of the year we will have 5-6 market places here, so we will make a brand, intrested is big...but the biggest problem is homolgation rules.,which is in europe very hard(for example euro 5 engine),still we can sell them now as they are
but it's ok, people know that HOVER is good car

I real hate the tires that come from factory with all the suv's and 4x4. Are always tires made for regular road and not off road.
When i change the tires from suv's i usualy buy Goodyear Wrangler or Pirelli Scorpion. They improve the 4x4 hability from the car.

first car have the speedometer from deer, for me it's nicer
then i install LPG sistem

after that i will go to instal unichip sistem, then car will between 120 ps, now have 106 ps

on highway he goes 160...but it was difficult for me to get the picture,maybe with better tires i can do it,but that isn't matter

the best is driving in 4th gear...and 5th gear, now when you go uphill i don't need to put in 3rd gear, car simply goes better, here you have all movies where i try to drive it, up hill, 3 movies are with 4th gear, and least one in in 5th gear

Micodelija, I really admire your skills at squeezing the best performance possible out of these Great Wall vehicles. And at making them look good too.

When do you think they will retire the old Toyota 4Y (GW491ME) gas engine used in these trucks? It seems to have been around forever.

By the way I know it's a cold climate where you live, but shouldn't that temperature gauge be reading higher at the RPM and KPH seen on the rev counter? Was it disconnected?

Oh, and I agree with what you said about price over on that other post, but I still think GW should have shown up in Detroit..just for the experience.

yes you see very well...the car was parked 3 years and the sensor of temperature was broken, we fix it now, you can see that car have only 7500...now have over 10000 km and goes much better, soon i will put new version of that chip on my hover

that engine 2.2 is very grateful for other markets like russian or some african markets, also here where is live is good because you can put LPG installation on it and drive much cheaper,price of LPG here is very low,also the prices of spare part's are very cheap which people here like,climate conditions here in croatia,bosnia and such countries is quite ok,ussualy, in summer can be over 35* and on winter between -8 or -10, in moutins is over - 20 and cars works very well, GWM advice us that we shoud change the oil and put it the oil which is good for that kind od weather conditions

In all the discussions about alternative energy driven cars, I don't hear much about the LPG alternative. I'm surprised that neither Great Wall, nor any of the other Chinese makers, set up some models for an LPG conversion as an option. As you said there obviously is a market for it.

I guess you can use 5W-30 in that climate for best fuel economy, and without worrying about excessive oil consumption.

I think you have already told us what kind of fuel consumption (MPG or KPL)you are getting with the LPG conversion, but I'm afraid I have forgotten.

i use here regulat 10w-40 oil - mobil1, i also put mobil 1 in gear box and all differencials after 2000 km, car goes much better, it's quieter and shifting of the gears is much easier

other companies offer some vehicles with CNG (same as lpg but it's not in liquied), it's normal gas-metane
conusption for expl. for deer, he normaly uses between 11 liters of gasoline,that cost 11 euros, and on LPG he uses 12 liters of lpg which cost 6.5 euros,so it's much cheaper, 50%, installation cost between 1000 euros and it's save money when you drive over 10000 km (for me it's a about 3 months)

I'm curious as to how much the LPG option added to the vehicle price? I ask this because even though I'm 100% in favor of electric passenger cars- I realize that internal combustion SUVs and trucks that tow (like my old Chevy 4x4) will probably remain unchanged for a while- and boats, campers and trailers still need to be towed. Aside from burning cleaner, how much do you save on fuel costs (%) with LPG?

Thought I would pass this video on to you guys. These guys have a Jeep Cherokee, it apprears to be in good condition, but has some rust on the underside, this made the car FAIL its saftey inspection so rather than fix it, they decided to have some fun with it, destroying it in the process. This Jeep has the 4.0 Liter inline 6cyl engine. Live solid axles front and rear.

ha ha ha...nice work with the jeep :),to dr.AI...with the LPG installation my cost for driving is much cheaper, here is example, when i drive on gasoline, hover take 12 liters per 100 km, 12 liters here in croatia cost 20 US dollars, when i drive it on LPG hover take between 13 liters of gas, that cost me 8 US dollars, so over 50% cheaper.

hover have both gasoline and diesel engine, temporary those engines are:
mitsubishi 4G64, 93 kw, sohc,2.4
diesel great wall 2.8 tc (based od tjb1 from isuzu), common rail, with 70 kw
new engines which will be avalaible in china and in other markets will be:
4g69,2.4 mivec engine,100 kw
and diesel 2.8 TCI with 85 kw
price of hover in croatia are between 22000 or 26000 euros, depends of the eqipment, all 4x4 models with abs and airbags

I'm new to the forum so please bare with me. I like the look of the Hover. I've had mine for 2 years and no probs. The only complaint I have is that theres no spares available for it like for example, no integrated bullbar, tires 245/70/16 only available in AT no Mt/r, suspention upgrades, non available. Other than that perfect car.

you can put tires with M/T on hover, BFG goodrich make them, but why do you need such big tires? 16 or even better 15 inch M/T is quite good, about the bull bar, i have almost 20 bullbars for hover, and from australia you can buy suspension kit, also many parts are very easy fitted from toyota and isuzu

Shouldn't just about anything for the Axiom fit the Hover?

This side we cant get anything not even wind shields for the windows or bonet guards. They say its just not available!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will it be posible for you to send me some pics of the bull bars and tyres please??

I am also from South Africa. I am awaiting the delivery of mine but it hasn't been released to the dealership yet. However, i guess a few more days won't hurt. The fact that there are no bonnet protectors etc available may mean that gap can be filled ;)

Oh - mine is being fitted with Nudge Bar (bullbar), towbar, cruise control and usual smash and grab with front tint to match rear windows. We do, afterall, have African sun comming through our windows!

hi shearder, the prblem I have with the nudge bar is that it decreases your aproach angle (thats already not good). I messed up my bumper once and am not planning to do that again.
