Wheels look far too small for the car. Design is nice though, the side profile kinda reminds me of 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer

Is this a concept or an actual driving vehicle? From what I know from Changan CV8 is planned to be launched only in second half of 2008.

I do see similarity Axle but your Mitz roof has a rake that matches the overall body rake. The Chang'an doesn't have that and to me it looks somehow misproportioned. The wheels are a poor choice for one, but I think it's more than just that.....
The grille has a cheezy look too. I'm afraid I expect more from Chang'an in body design.

I was told, that the mid-size sedan shall compete with GM’s Excelle and Hyundai Elantra. As my OEM database, SOP of CV8 is planned for Q1 2008 with an initial volume of 15,000 units (2009: 25K).

How about rumours that design was done/optimised in Germany by MBtech Group?

I really like it! The wheels definitely need to be bigger, but overall the profile of the car just screams "sporty, yet refined". JOB WELL DONE!

To Axle

Those 2 look nothing alike from the sideway, the door design is different, the back of those 2 are different.The wheels are different, the headlights are different.

It's ok, but the small wheels make the stance of the car appear quite "tippy".

Wow, I don't think I've seen this yet.............NICE car. Yes, the wheels are a bit small (but enough room in the wheel wells to add something a bit bigger) but the shape.............it blows away the Elantra and the Excelle. I would love to see some interior shots - anybody know of any? How about specs - engine size, fuel consumption, standard features (if it's going to compete with Elantra/Excelle it will have to have dual airbags, CD player or changer, optional sunroof.....and it will need to be AT LEAST a 1.6 engine as well, possibly a 1.4 based on power to weight ratios)?? Will it also have a optional automatic transmission? Both the Elantra and Excelle have that as an option.........

This COULD be a real competitor for the lower middle price segment of the market here..........I'm looking forward to seeing it for real next spring!!

Thanks! The exterior design reminds me of the Chery A3 and the interior of the Chang'an CV11 and the rear of the Kia Shuma. In my opinion it's a quite nice car, although I've seen better looking Chinese cars in this class (Chery A3, Hafei Saibao III/V and Haima Family)

They did a very nice job reworking the design of the Zhixiang CV8, i.e. comparing it to the early concept seen in the first posts. I like the nose much better and the wheels are a big improvement. Interesting to note that this model is built on a Focus platform legally purchased from Chang'an's venture partner.

June 2, Chang'an Automobile, and a new base engine Jiangbei District in Chongqing Industrial Park, the official ground-breaking fish head, which is expected to achieve in 2012 a completed and put into production, the production of a new generation of the next major small displacement micro-cars, and the latest C-series, H series of engines and some of the new energy automotive products such as energy saving and environmental protection.

Chang'an Automobile for the energy saving and environmental protection model, I believe there are many consumers concerned about the Chang'an Automobile should know Jie Xun HEV products. And Chang's first independent brand sedan Intermediate Zhi-xiang, will also be launched in the coming hybrid products. There are long two hybrid models, which are mild and moderate hybrid.

Zhi-xiang mild hybrid sedan will be 93RON unleaded petrol and CN G natural gas as fuel, the use of 1.6-liter gasoline engine, maximum power of 71 kilowatts to achieve. And slow adoption of permanent magnet-type tributaries start motor, rated power of 1.7 kW, torque to 8 cows / m, mainly in the start and deceleration of vehicles to improve power in order to reduce the fuel consumption for the purpose.

Zhi-xiang moderate and hybrid cars also will be No. 93 of unleaded petrol as fuel, but this new car will be equipped with 1.5-liter gasoline engine, maximum power 69 kW, maximum torque to 131 cattle / m. The car is equipped with permanent magnet brushless synchronous AC motor, rated power 13 kW, torque to 42 cows / m, and the use of nickel-metal hydride batteries, so that the integrated vehicle operating conditions to reduce fuel consumption for the 6.6 liters per 100 kilometers.
