Haima 3 looks like a compelet knock-off of Mazda6. How come Mazda allow them to do that ?

he popular Haima 3 has been given a mild sports make over, with a view to stealing some of SouEasts younger buyers away from the Lioncel and into the 3. The outer appearance remains the same, except for sports additions such as a small bodykit, but under the metal is where the big changes have been made.

The suspension has been upgraded to a ’sports style‘ (presumably stiffer springs) the interior has been de-faux woodified, and replaced with some tasteful black/silver plastic. Under the hood, the engine remains the same, but tuned slightly to give the driver a bit more omph at the wheel.

Haima 3 hatchback to go on sale in year end.

July 25, 2008 - FAW Haima Motor Co, a Hainan island-based subsidiary of FAW, will put on sales the Haima 3 hatchback and Haima 3 CVT models at the end of this year, said xinhuanet.com today. The self-developed Haima 3 series were displayed at the 2008 Beijing auto show in April along with Fstar H1.

Following the success of the Haima 3 sedan launched in June 2007 and of the Haima 3 sports edition rolled out this May, the Haima 3 hatchback is also designed solely by the company's in-house design studio based in Shanghai. It will be mass-produced later this year and will hit the market by December at a price 33% lower than Mazda 3.

The Haima 3 sedan is quite a popular sedan a bit styled after Mazda. The Haima 3 hatchback follows on with the Mazda design theme. The Haima 3 sports edition, which went on sale just after the Beijing auto show, was designed by the Italian design company Studio Idea and built on Haima's H1 platform. Haima (Hainan + Mazda) is a name out of Hainan Auto and its former partner Mazda Motor.

Another Haima 3 CVT with automatic transmission will also go on sale by the end of this year. The launch of the Haima 3 hatchback and the CVT-powered Haima 3 will expand the Haima 3 lineup and boost the Haima brand's market appeal.

FAW-Haima is planning to coordinate its Haikou plant, Zhengzhou plant and Shanghai R&D (Research and Development) Center in its expansion in the competitive Chinese auto market.

Haima to sell Huandong hatchback in December

November 25, 2008 - At the Guangzhou auto show, Haima Auto formally named its all-new hatchback Haima H11 as Huandong ("happy move"), and the Haima Huandong hatchback will be go on sale early next month, said xinhuanet.com today.

The 1.8L Huandong model will have four variants available: comfort manual, luxury manual, comfort automatic and luxury automatic, and they are expected to sell between 80,000 yuan ($11,710) and 100,000 yuan. Haima Auto's 4S stores in Beijing have started to receive ordering for the Huandong hatchback, and customers can deposit a small upfront fee for a priority delivery of the vehicle.

In appearance, the Haima Huandong features the Italy's I.DE.A classic design, highlighting the dynamic vitality of the model. The front face is fashionably designed. The in-house R&D team of Haima Auto has spent three years developing this hatchback car by using the cutting-edge technology of auto-making to make it "dynamic, stylish, avant-garde, and smart."

Huandong uses the re-tuned HA-VIS-1.8 II engine, which can generate more sufficient power. The manual edition can save fuel by 10% and the CVT-equipped versions can save gasoline by 15%. The control system and chassis have been fine-tuned by a seasoned Japanese professional who has worked for BMW 1, 3, 5 series.

The Haima Huandong's CVT transmission, produced by famous European transmission company Punch Powertrain and also used in BMW's MINI Cooper, offers the six-speed manual mode.
