Don't know about the rear view but the front of this car looks like a cross between the Kia Spectra and the Suzuki Forenza (or the Daewoo Lacetti)that debuted about two years ago when GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co. started smirshing happily together.

The rear looks a bit like the Daewoo Lacetti/Chevy Optra and the interior is 99% Corolla

"Vision" started to be on sale on May 18, 2007.

Generally reflected it's fine overall, there are some minor problems. It's power is fairly impressive and sells from 70,000+ to 100,000+RMB.

People in China are waiting for Vision as Geely's productivity is not big enough.

This is possible...Geely's 4S shop tells me there is only one type of interior at present that's shown in the second pic. But I personally like that shown in Detroit.

perhaps it is a premium option on this car, but as of now, the cars other compontents in terms of premium quality wouldnt match leather

An unconfirmed news says Vision I will equipped with CVVT 1.5 instead of CVVT 1.8 as the latter one does not sell as expected. Vision I with CVVT 1.5 will be about 10K RMB cheaper than 1.8.

Geely is now offering LPG version.

Geely may well not have the best designed cars on the road, at least compared to their biggest rival Chery, but Geely is a private company and doesnt enjoy state funding as Chery probably does. But one thing that Geely excels at is developing its own technology, and reacting to what the market actually needs. Geely has produced an LPG model of the excellent Geely Vision with a price tag of a mere 70,580rmb, sure the trunk has a 60l gas tank, but you can go for 180km on one refill, and with gas only costing 4.20rmb (probably cheaper out in the suburbs) a litre its quite cheap to fill up.

Geely sets up Xiangtan base for Vision production

November 07, 2008


Shanghai, November 7 (Gasgoo.com) Yesterday, Chinese car-maker Geely completed construction of its production base located in Xiangtan city, Hunan province. The new facility with an annual capacity of 100,000 will produce high-end Geely Vision, Beijing News said today.

Amid the global economic turmoil, big three American automakers and some domestic automakers are experiencing business slowdown and job cuts, but the privately-owned Chinese carmaker Geely is still stepping up its effort to extend production .

The Geely Xiangtan plant covers 373,520 squre meters, with an annual capacity of 100,000 vehicles. Geely vice president Liu Jinliang said the Xiangtan plant will focus on making all Vision-series as well as the production of models for overseas markets.

With Xiangtan factory put into production, Geely Ningbo plant has shifted from both making Vision and Free Cruiser to manufacturing Free Cruiser only.

Currently Geely owns four sedan production bases distributed in Linhai, Luqiao, Ningbo in Zhejiang province and Shanghai, with overall capacity reaching 300,000 units. Besides, the automaker also plans to have new factories in Jinan, Lanzhou and Chengdu.

Data released by Geely showed that Geely sales rose by 27% year on year to 130,000 units from January to August this year.

Looks great but i don't feel the LPG version. It affects the speed of the car.
