Is a well known modell in Europe. Besides this ford Mondeo was driven for the first time by 007 in his last movie.
I want to know who build this in China.

Changan Auto builds them.
They also build Suzuki and Mazda.
But they arent alowed to export any of these brands outside China.

New Ford Mondeo will not be sold in USA (as it wasn't previous generation).

Chinese version looks slightly different than European and it has longer wheelbase to provide more comfort for passengers on the rear seats.

Good start for Mondeo.

January 2 – In less than one month after being launched in Chinese, Ford Mondeo Zhisheng has sold 6,000 vehicles in Chinese market, a pretty satisfactory sales record for a newly launched vehicle, according to Jeffrey Shen, president of Changan Ford Mazda.

Mondeo Zhisheng produced by Changan Ford Mazda was launched in Chinese market on November 8 of 2007. The vehicle has three models: two powered by a 2.3 Liter engine and one powered by a 2.0 Liter engine. It is priced between RMB 180,000 (USD 24,644) to RMB 240,000 (USD 32,859).

In Chinese market, Mondeo Zhisheng competes with other models in upper and middle segment, like Honda Accord, Toyota Camry. These two models have already proved successful in Chinese market.

In November of 2007, Guangzhou Honda sold 10,914 Accord vehicles and Guangzhou Toyota sold 13,062 Camry vehicles.

"With 15,000 vehicles being sold out in one month, Mondeo-Zhisheng soon becomes a hot-selling model since it was launched in European market in June 2007,” Shen said. “With a stretched wheelbase, which is designed particularly for Chinese consumers, we expect it to have strong showing in Chinese market.”

In the first 11 months of 2007, Changan Ford Mazda sold 186,522 vehicles, ranking 9th biggest auto seller in Chinese market.

Massive discount on the new Mondeo in China.

June 10th, 2008 - Ford have given the new Mondeo a massive price cut in China to make it ‘more competitive’ with its rivals. The price cut, a massive 20,500rmb (Honestly, one of the biggest we’ve ever seen) will take the base model 2.3l manual Mondeo to a bargain 170,480rmb, the base model 2.0l version will reach the mid 150,000rmb range. The 2.3 automatic gearbox model doesnt have as big as price cut, but will be cut in price by 15,000rmb.

The price cuts put the gigantic new Mondeo in direct competition with the similar priced VW Magotan, Passat, and the new Mazda 6. The price cut could also have been due to the fact that May sales of large cars were down an amazing 50% for that month alone, and many other brands have been forced for cut prices.

Have been unable to locate them here in Germany or the UK so any help would be greatly appreciated also any aftermarket sites in China offering items for the Ford Mondeo.

I find that to be a biased comment! I have owned 3 Mondeos from MK2 to current MK4 and all have been well made and ran up to 400k km mainly high speed runs on the autobahn on a daily basis. On what do you base your opinion?:confused:

Having said this, I really like the Mondeo styling. It can park in my driveway anytime.:)

dragin, in my oppinion this is not sign of bad quality. Probably one of visitors didn't close the trunk completely.

The trunk is open by the way.....
