I found some interesting stuff about the Chery QQ Model...

Everybody already knows that they bought the QQ design from Daewoo before they broke... But no one know this : (look at the pictures !)

The first model was the Fiat Lucciola 1996

Then, Daewoo Matiz (And Chevrolet Spark, they are the same once Chevrolet owns Daewoo)

The Daewoo/Chevrolet Matiz/Spark is not a clone of the Cinquecento Lucciola. The Lucciola was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro (Italdesign). The Lucciola was meant to succeed the Fiat Cinquecento, but Fiat chose for the Seicento as successor of the Cinquecento. So Daewoo bought the rights of the bodywork design from Italdesign and adjust it a little (5 instead of 3 doors, a new front, different wing mirrors and the car is also a bit taller). The third picture is an Electric Car, and the "cloned" Body is manufactured in Fiberglass by a CHinese manufacturer...

About the post from Daewoo-Chevrolet, I'm not accusing Daewoo of stealing Fiat Design, I just find it interesting how people came to like this design...

This is how I understand this cloning fiasco.

Daewoo bought the rights from Fiat.

Chery hired the Daewoo designer when it was on the verge of bankcrutpcy.

Former Daewoo designer used the Fiat design........

Daewoo accused chery of cloning.

We are still in phase of choosing the vehicles and knowing the step-by-step of the import, etc. We will have a website probably by mid-2008.
