MVP was originaly developed by company named Baolong. But when Baolong encountered financial difficulties, the company was sold to FAW which continued to produce the vehicle under its brand.

In its previous life, Baolong, as well as Dongfeng's Liuzhou subsidiary, both produced the Mitsubishi Futurer van. The Pegasus looks remarkably similar even with the heavy re-work of the rear end.

According to my sources Free Wind is produces by Faw-Hongta Shineray (Chongqing) Automobile. I found another product of this company, nice looking small van named CA6390:
