: Great Wall Motors in Peru
GeneralGrievous 04-01-2008, 11:25 PM Great Wall has been in Peru for like two years and, although it ain't a great success, I guess it's doing pretty well. Like I said in another thread, I've already seen two Hovers and one Safe in the streets, and that's only in near my house, so I bet there's more of these out there.
I don't have a GWM vehicle yet, but my stepdad has bought a Safe, and it should be arriving in like two weeks, so I guess by that time I'll be able to say what I think about the SUV.
Anyway, is there any Peruvian people or Latin american folks around here who want to talk about the GWM? it'd be cool to know any Peruvian, GWM contact =D
roman 04-02-2008, 01:50 PM How many models they are in peru of greatwall:thumb:
GeneralGrievous 04-02-2008, 06:27 PM there's the Hover, the Safe, the Deer and a small car whose model name I can't remember =P

danadrianrico 04-02-2008, 10:59 PM ohh fucking hell, the peruanos have China cars already?? Damn I better get my ass back to Cochabamba & import those rebadged Xinkai or else Im screwed.
And please dont say u live in Puno, or else I might as well call it quits.
GeneralGrievous 04-02-2008, 11:10 PM hahaha, calm yourself man... no, I don't live in Puno, I live in Lima, and we've had the Chinese cars - both Geely and Great Wall - for little more than two years, I think...
why would you be screwed, BTW? :O
danadrianrico 04-02-2008, 11:22 PM Notice the avatar??? Im starting a company in bolivia selling rebadged Xinkai suv and sedan made by Jinghang. If great wall takes controll, there will be no chance...unless I price my shit cheaper and say "You should buy from a REAL k'olla not some chinese"
Aldous 04-03-2008, 02:37 AM Hi i following the chinese car industry for long time, i'm very impressed , just a 1 year ago i saw a report in Ruedas y Tuercas by canal 4 about the GWM models in Peru , can say the Hover model is selling very well in Russia and parts of Europe, im living now in Orlando but i'm Peruvian and watching the chinese car industry, i wonder why they don't choose Peru for assembly plant for GWM or another reliable chinese brand because the strategic location and long time ties with China.
micodelija 04-03-2008, 04:58 AM did city car pery hit the market in peru? what is the price of it there?
zzffirst 06-12-2008, 09:44 PM could some one tell me In Peru who is greatwall's dealer?
I want to buy a Haver SUV.
micodelija 06-13-2008, 03:44 AM hi jason, why you want to buy a hover? are you still selling gonow?
jvpe67 06-14-2008, 04:58 AM If you live in China, Why do you want to buy a Hover in Peru ?
bronco 06-16-2008, 02:24 PM I´m thinking to buy a Great Wall Safe 4x4, someone knows people with experience in this model in Peru?
mememe 06-17-2008, 02:34 PM I´m thinking to buy a Great Wall Safe 4x4, someone knows people with experience in this model in Peru?
one of the members here already bought one in some European country and is driving it.
The Safe i dont know it, i have some experience in the Hover and Wingle both with diesel engine. My evaluation is positive for both.
They are tough, resistent, economical.
The negative side is i think the 2.8 tc engine lacks torque.
micodelija 06-20-2008, 06:06 AM we had a safe model, very good car for off road, problem was fuel consuption between 10 or 12 liters of gasoline...but we solve that with installing LPG sistem on it
newer models have 4 braking disc, which is better than before, before they have drums on back tires, also you can order it with 2.2 engine 106 ps and 2.4 engine with 130 ps, also eqipment is very good, have A/C, power sterring, electric windows, central lock and so...
also car have very cheap spare part's,here is some pics of my last model, 2005 year model

here is lpg instalation

also i put chip tuning on it, give 10 ps more to engine, reduces fuel consuption, and top speed was better, also engine was better to drive

for wingle isn't so bad...my wingle how have 20000 km and goes much better when he had 5000 km, for hover 2.8 tc isn't so good..lack of power, but you can install chip tuning on it, we put on hover 30 ps more without a problem

From my first day in this forum i always took much attention in your coments i found them very informative. Do you recomend any chip brand?
By the way the cargo cover you instaled in your wingle looks great, was is custom made?

thank you :)
that cargo cover is original from GWM, you just pay when you order your car,it's very good quality, i also sell other brand like ARB, they are very expensive but don't have this qualityhttp://img214.imageshack.us/img214/6599/dsc01027vm3.jpg
for chip...it's very complicated question, the most important is not to mess with the original ECU, you can see on my pictures, better to install another computer who will do that and to have the communication between ECU AND CHIP, we are using dastek unichip, it's very good product, you can informe better on the internet sites(look in yahoo) how it works, on my car he give more power 5-10 % on gasoline and 20-30 % on diesel, it's not recommented to go over that because engine will over heat, and usually person who put it in your car must have dynomater to measure power, torque and heating of engine, to find best parameters for it...then you will not have any problems with engine, also fuel consuption will be lower and car will go better, before when i drive it on hills i must put in 3rd gear and I must step on in...after we put chip we drive it regular, on 4th or 5th gear on low RPM and car simply have more power
Once again many thanks.
When i bought the first batch of Wingles i asked Mr Peter from Great Wall if they ahd cargo covers. And he said no.
I must ask again now
See you
Vitor

jvpe67 06-21-2008, 07:06 AM Micodelija,
Great Posts !!!!
I understand that the Cargo cover is GWM original.
But is it from the factory in china or from the dealer in your country ?
micodelija 06-22-2008, 03:49 PM i am a dealer in my country, and we order it original from gwm factory
bronco 07-25-2008, 12:25 AM Dear Micodelija: wich is the best fuel for GWM Safe? In Peru we have 90 octanes, 95 octanes and 97 octanes. Dou you recommend 90 octanes?
Do you know internet web about GWM Safe accesories?
Thanks
micodelija 07-25-2008, 05:16 PM if is it safe with 2.2 engine that use 95 octanes, if have 4g64 engine 2.4...aslo 95 but in that engine we try 100 octane and car goes very good, sometimes I add 100 in my hover
best accesories for GWM have WINBO DONGIJAN ACCESORIES, they are GWM OEM supplier, here is some pictures of it:

bronco 09-19-2008, 02:35 PM Finally I received my new GWM Safe....and is my worst experience. It has a strange sound inside dashboard, parking brake doesn´t stop the car, the leather seats are not real leather, high light doesn´t work, the rear cup of the tools is missing.
I sold my Fiat Adventure with only 25000 kms to buy the GWM Safe. Bad bussines
mememe 09-19-2008, 04:01 PM :(
Hover is the only acceptable/good GWM model I think, both inside and outside China.

can you put a pictures of it? for all of that other stuff you shoud contact your dealer and ask for warranty to solve this problems
- for parking brake, depends which model you have, new F1 or regular, do you have 4 discs or rear drums? that parking brake can be adusted that work very good
- for high light,go to service station let electrician look at that
- seats are not real leather, that costs much more, and usually you can get it only is expesive brands like mercedes, bmw, lexus, hover also don't have real leather, and for wingle i am not sure, but i can say that it's better quality than in hover
- for that last part, i don't know on what you mean, but if any part is missing go to service and ask for it
i must say one thing, safe, deer, sing, pegasus and models like that isn't producing in company where is producing hover and wingle, they don't have that quality like hover and wingle, safe if a model which is alternative to expensive japanese of europeans models, and most important there is that he have very good 4x4, also i am sure that price of the spare parts isn't so much expensive
by my opinion, your dealership where you buy a car, didn't do good "check service" before they deliver the vehicle to you, just one advice, replace all oils in gearbox and front and rear axels, put there new api gl4 or api gl5 gradation, chinese oil is very strange i can say, even is they use mobil or esso, it's simply made for chinese weather conditions
bronco 10-01-2008, 12:57 PM I went to my GWM dealer and they fixed all problems in my Safe. Now it has 1,000 kms
mememe 10-01-2008, 01:53 PM I went to my GWM dealer and they fixed all problems in my Safe. Now it has 1,000 kms
Cool , at least the dealers of GWM is not like Chery and Geely dealers in Egypt where dealers and Chery, Geely keep on pushing the blame to each other.
micodelija 10-01-2008, 05:47 PM i am very glad to hear that bronco, of course that you must get full service support from your dealer there
bronco 10-20-2008, 12:58 PM There are some photos of my Safe
mememe 10-20-2008, 02:42 PM There are some photos of my Safe

zzffirst 10-24-2008, 04:22 AM hi jason, why you want to buy a hover? are you still selling gonow?
One of my friend waht to buy GWM SUV in Peru,he let me ask who sell?
bronco 11-29-2008, 01:15 PM Micodelija: do you know if the CD stereo of my Safe have an amplifier output and connector to switch on an amplifier?
Thanks
micodelija 11-30-2008, 12:24 PM i think not, here is what i did for my safe:
instead of that radio i order plastic which hade 2 separate place, one for radio and one for other stuff, i now don't have that photo becase i sold my car but the same is on wingle, you can order this separetly, fits from deer model
http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/2040/instjw4.jpg
see this in red block, this you order and install the radio which you want
http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/1649/p3243751ss1.jpg
photo from wingle
then you can install a new radio, with much better cd player, which can read dvd,mp3 and to have memory card or usb player, also remove all of that speakers and put there much better, I install Sony speakers there
quality of music in car was much better, i invest only 200 dollars to replace all of this
bronco 12-08-2008, 09:22 PM Micodelija: and do you know the # part of this piece to order it?
Thank you
micodelija 12-09-2008, 05:40 AM sorry bronco, i don't understand what you want to ask me, what part do you mean?
bronco 12-09-2008, 08:50 PM I refer about the part number 7 in the red square of your graphic (plastic adapter to 1 Din CD Player and other stuff)
Thank you
micodelija 12-10-2008, 05:14 AM the code part is:
7901010-D07, maybe this code can help to your importer to order this part
bronco 12-10-2008, 07:39 PM Thanks for you answer. I was searching for this part but the code part 7901010-D07 includes the cd player and I only need the adapter.
micodelija 12-11-2008, 04:29 AM http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/1293/sdjl9.jpg
this is photo from my last safe, i already have a cd radio in it, so the cables left because from deer you get this set with normal cassete radio, i remove that cassete radio and put much better radio with dvd and mp3, but i don't have this picture
