SouEast roles out a mystery car.

SouEast Auto, the joint venture partner of Mitsubishi in China, have a secret car in production according to below photos. China Car Times is guessing it could be a slightly nipped and tucked version of the Mitsubishi Lancer.

Looks like restyling of Lioncel NEW SEi. Wheels are the same Lancer X-Speed. I like it's grill and a head lamps.:thumb: It's a pity, that no photos of back.:(

Southeast Auto to mass-produce a new model in 2008.

April 9, 2008 - Southeast Auto will display its seven vehicle models at the Beijing international auto show later this month. The carmaker said it will mass-produce one of the models this year, a sedan that will carry the company's logo.

The vehicle is a self-developed product by Southeast Auto, but its name is not determined yet. Looking from photos released now, this complete sedan (called V3 in the company) is designed with smooth auto body line and the full arc, portraying an outward appearance of futuristic concept. The auto body is integrated with contemporary popular elements as well as the concept car design element.

Besides, Southeast Auto also brings two concept models to the Beijing auto show. The first is code-named V5, while another concept car X1 will be displayed at Beijing auto show as brand concept car.

Southeast Motor to launch V3 Lingyue in September.

June 21, 2008 - Fujian-based car manufacturer Southeast Motor is to launch its first proprietary sedan called V3 Lingyue in September 2008, according to the company with investment from Mitsubishi Motors.

The sedan will be priced at 60,000 yuan to 80,000 yuan, compared to 94,800 yuan ($13,680) to 122,800 yuan of Lancer, a sedan developed by the two companies, on grounds that the added-value of Chinese proprietary brands is low. And the general of the company believed that the price would keep the new car at an advantage in competition with other cars.

The V3 Lingyue would adopt the one of the 4G15 engines produced by the Harbin Dongan Mitsubishi, with high security as well as low energy consumption and gas emission.

Besides, the company plans to launch one A-class or B-class proprietary car per year in the future, as an effort to increase its share market in China in a short period. And with experience from its cooperation with Mitsubishi Motors, it is confident about its prospect.

First Soueast V3 rolled off assembly line today. The company will start accepting orders in early October at starting price of approx. 60,000 yuan.

V3 is basically modernised previous generation of Mitsubishi Lancer. The Chinese is driven by Mitsubishi 1.5L MIVEC engine. It will be equiped with ABS + EBD, front airbags, four electric windows, fog lamps and indicators with LED lights on outside mirrors.

October 14th, 2008 - The SouEast V3 is SouEast’s latest small sedan, and their first own design, (although to China Car Times it looks like a re-worked previous generation Mitsubishi Lancer)

The V3 was officially launched yesterday, and comes with a 1.5l MIVEC Mitsubishi engine underneath. The best part about the V3 is the price, it starts at a mere 64,800rmb to 85,800rmb, which is quite frankly, nothing!

SouEast are launching 5 models of the V3, a basic, a standard, a luxury, a flagship and a flagship sunroof model. For a sub 100,000rmb compact sedan, the V3 is looking set to take to that particular segment very well, with only the Haima Family (aka Mazda 323) performing well in that area.

The 1.5l engine is also noteworthy, with it requiring just 4.3l of fuel for an average speed of 60kph, which is probably on par with a 1.3l engine. The engine also reaches Euro 5 emissions specs.

Besides the good looks, and the engine, the V3 also has a variety of goodies packed in. The wireless entry, and wireless ignition system is usually only found on cars twice the price, so to see the system in the sub 100,000rmb segment is a real suprise, the V3 also has a DVD/Navigation system, and a CD player with MP3 connection.

Southeast Motor Corp was jointly built by Fujian Motor Industry Group and its Taiwan partner China Motor Corp in 1995. Japanese Mitsubishi Motors invested in Southeast Motor in 2006. Fujian Motor holds 50% stocks and the other two hold 25%+25% in the company. The three sides have recently decided to add their investment in expanding the joint venture.

Soueast officialy presented 'style' version of its V3 sedan. The car is equiped with new Mitsubishi 4A91 aluminum MIVEC engine and is distinguished from other versions by silver decorations and 15'' alloy wheels from outside. In the cabin are bucket seats covered with black leather and cloth witch matches outside paint and some extra aluminium. Sales will begin this month at starting price of 75.800 RMB.

Southeast Motor recalls Lingyue cars on engine flaw.

Chinese automaker Southeast (Fujian) Motor Co., Ltd. yesterday started to recall its Lingyue sedans because of engine flaws, Xinhua News reported, citing China's quality watchdog.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ) said yesterday that the recall would involve 2,056 Lingyue sedans produced between July 17 and September 5, 2009.

A statement by the automaker said improper anti-rust oil was used in the engine, which may obstruct heat dissipation for water tank under extreme circumstances, and lead to engine overheating.

Southeast Motor will check and clean defective parts for free. Owners can call the company's hotline for consultation, or visit the GAQSIQ website for more information.

The Lingyue sedan was derived on the previous China-made Mitsubishi Lancer as an entry-level own-brand car of Southeast Motor, a Chinese partner of Mitsubishi Motors, and has sold well since its launch in October 2008.
