Starting in September 2008, China Automobile Deutschland (CAD) will offer to german customers SUV GX6. Prices will start at 20.000 EUR. Buyers will be able to choose between gasoline and diesel engine. The last is produced in Italy (probably by VM Motori).

In exporting to Italy I heard that Gonow may have been spared the crash testing hurdle, because of a light truck exclusion, but in Germany home of ADAC?......... I'd be surprised.

VM Motori produce engines.
In fact they're diesel engine is well known and with good quality.
Lets wait and see...

Yes tdi, the renowned Roger Penske knows a good diesel engine maker when he sees one. Now Jiangling, Changfeng, Huatai and Geely have all signed on to be VM Motori customers.

And the million dollars question is:
Will VM build a factory in China?
Or will these brands send the cars without engine to Italy, and VM will had engines in Italy?

May saw SUV Polska open what became Poland’s first showroom selling models by Chinese brand Gonow. The dealership is located in the city of Opole, some 300 south-west of Warsaw.

Established in 2009, SUV Polska says it currently has two Gonow vehicles on offer. These are a pick-up called the GA200 plus an SUV called the GX6. Both vehicles have received N1 homologation as vehicles that can carry up to five passengers, making it possible for corporate buyers to apply for a 22% VAT refund. With prices starting at PLN 59,000 before tax, the Gonow models available here come standard with a 24-month warranty cover without mileage, with an option to get the warranty extended for another 12 months or 100,000km mileage.

SUV Polska says it has been in touch with prospective retailers that are considering starting a future business as Gonow dealers.

GM officially now sell more cars (Buick's) in China than they do in the U.S. So yes, Buick has a very good reputation in China.
