So that's the Mercedes and BMW competitor?

That looks like a Flagcould/Windcloud so no, I don't think its something he is going to import.

well a picture wont tell us all, is there an article that we could follow up on that?

Not sure if this article goes with that picture but this article does have that picture in it.

no it's A21 / car which is similar to Nissan Almera /

thanks PyroC for his link. very interesting article.

Think it's time for briklin in Russian, Ukraine where people need car for 10 000 $ and no worry about safety so much like in the USA

"He blames the delay on a powertrain upgrade: He had planned to offer a 3.0-liter V-6 engine with a four-speed automatic transmission but realized it wouldn't appeal to the kind of customer he hopes to attract; he asked Chery to develop a 3.6-liter V-6 with a six-speed instead. "That extra two gears and six-tenths of a liter are a bitch," he says."

Its worth the wait for a 290 HP V6

Malcolm loses all his credibility right there, 290 HP from a 3.6L V6? a 400 HP V8?

Those numbers aren't impossible. Still, I think there may be some revisions before anything is actually offered for sale.

China hater loses all of his credibility right there in that post.

Some exisiting examples of similar power outputs for similarly sized engines is evident in the Nissan 3.5 litre V6, lexus 3.5 litre V6 and lexus 4.6 litre V8.

Nissan 3.5 L VQ35DE V6 engine produces 300 hp (223 kW) and 260 ft·lbf (352 N·m)

Lexus 3.5 L 2GR-FE V6 produces 315 hp (232 kW) and 277 ft·lbf (377 N·m)

Lexus 4.6 L V8 produces 380 hp (283 kW) and 370 ft·lbf (502 N·m)

Chinahater obviously knows nothing about engines.

Exactly. Not impossible if you are Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Ferrari, or Porsche.

Impossible if you are something else, especially from China.

AVL will be responsible for the design of these engines. AVL is a company based in Austria, not China, which designs engines for many companies, most notably Mercedes Benz. Do you want me to look for the power ratings of Mercedes Benz vehicles too? Do some research China Hater. You arguements have no merit whatsoever.

AVL specializes in diesel engines, not gasoline engines.

Furthermore, even Mercedes doesn't have 300-HP V6 and 400-HP V8, aside from AMG versions.

A 300 HP V6 and a 400 HP V8 from Chery is a BS; Chery doesn't have the experience to build something like this, even with an outsourced design.

Your entire arguement on the engines is based on horsepower figures given by Malcolm Bricklin, who is an American business man trying to get investors.

horsepower is not some prescriptive parameter that has anything to do with V6 or V8.

the parameters that decide the power output of a normally aspirated engine are chiefly the engine capacity (e.g. 3.6 litres), the engine rpm and the volumetric efficiency. Nowadays more and more engines are using variable valve timing which enables good high rpm volumetric efficiency without excessive compromise to low speed tractability, emissions and economy.

Chery's engines including the V6 and V8 have variable valve timing systems on both intake and exhaust, although I am not certain if this is genuine valve timing variation that increases duration or just cam phasing.

with variable valve timing lots of engines (spearheaded by the Japanese) are now producing in the region of 100 bhp per litre for road use so the figures quoted here are not unrealistic.

whether those american moms using the crossover to drop the kids off at school will feel the need to exploit the full 290 bhp is another question of course.

so china hater maby you should tell us why this is possible in china, and not japan, italy or germany.

what's the power output on the space rocket?

gr8

im not talking about the power output of the space rocket, that is the shenzhou rocket that can bring man to space. Only three countries could do it, China, US, and Russia.
