Below are a few excerpts from an Associated Press article released today about a Chinese infant boy who was born with three arms.

SHANGHAI, China -- Doctors in Shanghai on Tuesday were considering surgery options for a 2-month-old boy born, identified only as "Jie-Jie," with an unusually well-formed third arm.

Dr. Chen Bochang, head of the orthopedics department at Shanghai Children's Medical Center stated, "His case is quite peculiar. We have no record of any child with such a complete third arm"

Chen said doctors hoped to work out a plan for surgery, but the boy's small size made it impossible to perform certain tests that would help them prepare.

If they don't amputate the extra arm he would hell of a drummer when he becomes older.

That is true, there have been many occasions where most people have wished for an extra arm, but when the kid is growing up, assuming that they still have the third arm, they will be teased at school, and there clothing will need to be made by a tailor.

heres the success story..

A CHINESE baby born with three arms has had one of them successfully amputated by surgeons today.

Two-month-old Jie-Jie was born with two partially functional left arms on April 1 at a small hospital in Anhui Province.

Doctors decided to remove the arm closest to his chest because it was less developed than the other one.

Dr Chen Bochang, from Shanghai's Children's Medical Centre, performed the surgery and hailed it a success.
