JAC to launch A0 at the end of the year

From China Car Times:
JAC are steaming ahead with their small car launches recently, and plan to take on the Geely Eagle, BYD F0, Chery QQ, and Brilliance FRV with the launch of their own super cheap super nice mini car.
The JAC AO is expected to be powered by a 1.0 and 1.1 engine producing around 72BHP and 85Nm. The mosting interesting thing about the JAC AO is the fact that it will launch with an AMT transmission, something that is missing from the vast majority of small cars aside from the Riich M1 and the Geely Eagle at launch time. The AMT transmission will be avaiable on the 1.1 only, where as the 1.0l will be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.

Other goodies for the JAC AO include double air bags, ABS/EBD and EPS power steering system, reversing senors, CD player with MP3 link up, the final launch price has yet to be announced but is expected to be around 35,000rmb to 60,000rmb when launched at the end of the year.

Although the above car is essentially the concept car that we saw at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year, it is probably very close to the end production model and does show a rather unique design from JAC. It will be interesting to see how the proposed match up of Chery and JAC to become Da-An Motors will be in the future, will Chery’s small car range wipe out JAC’s? We should hope not.

Ouch-there's that nasty mating of purple and red thing going on there. These Chinese carmakers like to take any two colors that don't match with each other and put them together, an interior color with an exterior color. I mean they're not even close!

The JAC J2 have been introduced on the Uruguayan market. In Brazil, the J2 have been fitted with the 1.4 16V engine (also used in the J3 or Tongyue) with a maximum power of 79,5 kW/108 PS, in Uruguay a smaller 1.0 16V engine with maximum power of 49 KW/67 PS and maximum torque of 86 Nm.
The J2 offers standard features like airconditioning, power steering, electric windows, CD/MP3, 14 inch alloy wheels, ABS with EBD and dual airbags.
