The actual model name according to bable fish is Persperation Horse, not really a flattering name but the thing looks awesome! Here are some specs I could pick out using Babelfish translator...
6.5 litre 200 horsepower V8 diesel engine, 583Nm torque at 1700rpm, Top speed 150km/h.

Admin 07-15-2006, 01:28 PM welcome to china car forums toemo,
and
in the pictures above it has a DFM (dongfeng) badge, so i guess its made by them
Is this a purely miltary vehicle or is it for sale to civilian too like the HUMMER?
There are two companies in China which make Hummer style vehicles. The DongFeng's EQ2050 which was already posted and SAC's (ShenYang Aircraft Industry Co) model SFQ2040
Here is more information:

razorback 10-03-2006, 07:21 PM That vehicle would look nice in my driveway...:)
Paul-ZS180 10-12-2006, 11:58 AM thats a beast. i take it its the same dimensions as the H1? not the best thing off-road though, a British Forces spec Land Rover Defender can run circles around a HUMVEE, belive me.......;)
i wonder what would happen if i crash that head to head with the H1? if the damage is almost the same or better, i would buy this instead. (if its avaliable for public).
WuzhengNA 12-13-2006, 01:11 PM After much talk, work, negotiations (and some begging thrown in for good measure) DongFeng has advised that they will stand with thier original decision to sell the Dongfeng EQ2050 (Licensed Hummer H1 Clone) only to the Chinese military.
This model, the EQ2050, has the majority of drive train components supplied by GM of the USA.
If they ever change thier mind, we will certainly advise.

chinacartimes 12-13-2006, 10:49 PM I saw one at the BJ car show, I thought the quality didnt seem quite as solid as the hummer - the metal that was used seemed really really flimsy.

I thought the new Beijing Warrior jeep was a bit better but you cant beat that old Beijing Jeep - it feels indistructable compared to the newer ones. I guess the mixture of Soviet/American/German technology paid off.

martin_krpan 08-21-2007, 12:14 PM China Car Times wrote this about civilian version:
In news that people all over the world who are preparing for an all out urban assault on their local shopping precinct armed with a vehicle that is no doubt ready to take on the world, and maybe win will be happy to hear that Dongfeng are getting to release a civilian version of their famous Humvee like vehicle, which unfortunately was named the ‘Crazy Soldier’ Dongfeng spent 4.5 years researching and developing this vehicle for use within the army, the civilian edition is going to be aimed at Chinese telecoms companies, forestry commissions etc (remember, only the east of China is developed, the other half of the country is mother natures lot). The difference between the civilian edition and the Army edition is practically nothing, the civilian one gets a regular radio and CD player.
Want it? You’ll have to wait until the beginning of next year if you do.
AGS2225 08-21-2007, 05:15 PM The HUMMER was not first, was Lamborghini LM002.

mememe 01-12-2009, 03:45 PM Mengshi (Warriors) outshines Humvee
2009-01-12
BEIJING, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The "Mengshi (Warriors)" off-road military vehicle produced by Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor surpasses U.S. Humvee in 12 out of 15 major battlefield performance indices, chief designer Huang Song has said.
Use by the Chinese military force has proven that "Mengshi" overtakes Humvee in 12 indices, including the loading capacity andoil consumption, and are well-matched with Humvee in three other indices, Huang was quoted as saying by Monday's Economic Information Daily, a Xinhua publication.
It took Dongfeng six years to develop the vehicle, which had undergone more than 200,000 hours of factory tests and more than 1.6 million kilometers of road tests before mass production.
The vehicle was formally equipped to the People's Liberation Army in 2007.
"Mengshi" has also passed various environmental and geological tests, including airdropping, high altitude and extreme heat and cold weather conditions.
With 75 patents, the 1.5-ton high mobility vehicle met all military requirements, said Huang.
It also won the first class award of national science and technology progress at the 2008 State Top Scientific and Technological Awarding Conference here last Friday.
This was the first such award won by the auto industry in 22 years.
