Volkswagen finishes to present new Goal 2009 of fifth generation officially. The new model is almost the 100% new in relation previous generation. It will have 1,6 engines 1,0 and flex of 72/76cv and 101/104cv, respectively. Beyond Brazil, the new Goal must be manufactured in Russia and China. Also the launching of its version is waited for November silk, that can have the name of Voyage. In China, the new Gol must be made by the Shanghai-VW, but as in Brazil, it is probable that the new model does not substitute the current one of the third generation. Also the launching of the Voyage in the Chinese market is very probable. Picape with name of Saveiro will exist a version, but this is exclusive of the Latin American market.

But, I've the information, that VW don't want a local production of the new Gol.... :nono:

If it not to want, really will be a great imperfection with the Chinese market, since the New Goal is very superior to the current Goal made for the Shanghai (G3) in what the structure of the car says respect, not for the finishing. Yesterday I walked in the New Goal 1,6 Power, and noticed well superior it to all the Goal already made so far.

The VW Gol (not to be confused with Golf, note that f.) is VW’s developing market car, and is sold in Latin America and certain Asian markets. The VW Golf was initially built by Shanghai-VW but sales numbers were not terribly good for VW, however with the success of the Chevrolet Sail and Aveo range it seems that VW are preparing the 2010 Gol to knock the wind out of GM’s Sail.The 2008 VW Gol is already sold in Brazil, but a face lifted version might be sold in China in the next two years according to rumours circulating. The Shanghai-VW Gol is likely to come with a 1.2 and 1.4l engine
