Dongfeng Citroën Peugeot released the first official details on the new Citroën C2.

Developed under the code name T21, this C2 is independent from its European namesake, having been based around the Peugeot 206.

It will be powered by 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter engines, as used in the European C2, mated to four-speed auto gearbox.

The new C2 will be launched on the Chinese market in October.

Dongfeng Citroën introduced sportier version of C2, called VTS. The car is run with either 1.4 (76bhp) or 1.6 (106bhp) litre engine.

The main difference to 'civil' C2 is interior in red and black combination.

Wow...the C2 VTS looks stylish inside and out. I like that red and black interior combo getup. Exterior looks to be attractive with several nice design details included.

Once again, export to America is not in the picture as Americans still are hanging on to huge SUV's and pick-em-up trucks.

Chevy is working on an all-electric car, the Volt. Some new small cars are importing in but we need more! This Dongfeng Citroen C2 VTS would be a welcome sight in the U.S.

Looking some more at the write-up and pics of this Dongfeng Citroen C2 VTS and it looks like the sportier VTS with the red and black interior also offers a manual tranny. That is of interest to me, because the write-up earlier on the C2 only talks about a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

I'd want the sportier C2 VTS with a 5-speed tranny. Again, none of this probably matters to me as I reside in the U.S. and this car will probably not be coming to the U.S. At least not anytime soon. I do like it in early looks, though.

It looks as if it would get pretty good gas mileage.

That paint job is awesome! I would think that this little monster would be a ball to drive. Nice combination of colors on the hood and elsewhere!
