Good looking car even if it's a BMW copy.

dragin 09-14-2006, 10:02 AM Double Ring's IPR lawyers are likely to enjoy job security.
The company sent 66 of these to Italy in August. It's said to be moving right along with plans to produce passenger cars within a year or so (China Daily). They are even looking at possible overseas production. All this is amazing for a company that barely sold 4,000 cars last year.
If they attempt to make their own sedan lets hope its "inspired" by the rear-wheel drive BMW 3 series.
rodrally 11-17-2006, 12:22 AM The Sceo, that will be sold under the name of Autorrad Sceo, has been recently cleared by the 3CV, the Chilean Government agency in charge of the safety and emission regulations in Chile.
The Sceo tested in Chile was the 2.4L with manual transmission, and it passed the Euro III standars with the following figures:
CO = 1,37
HC = 0,13
NOx = 0,14
The Sceo was the second chinese car cleared by the chilean government afther the Shanghai GM Sail (sold in Chile as Chevrolet Corsa Plus). The estimated price of the Sceo 'll be $12.000.000 (US$22.857)
Pictures taken at the parking lot of the 8th International Auto Show of Santiago, Chile (no chinese companies present; but the chinese Chevrolet Corsa Plus was at the Chevrolet stand)

The car is looking very well. But the technical specifications are bad. The engine has only 125hp (Benzin) and the ISUZU Diesel ENgine with 90hp is a joke ! If the put a better Engine inside, the the car will be perfect. (EURO 4 will be incredible) :D
Maximum Speed Benzin: 120hp --> 150 kmh
Maximum Speed Diesel 90 ---> 125kmh :D
Are there any news for improving ?

martin_krpan 12-29-2007, 06:21 AM Hello Sheilla and welcome to CCF.
You can't find many articles on Internet regarding Shuanghuan cars, at least not in understandable languages (ie German or English) as the cars are not available in those markets yet. I found one short test in Italian:
http://www.autoshopitalia.com/2007/11/08/shuanghuan-ceo-test-drive-china-suv/
At the moment, Shuanghuan is sold only in Italy through distributor Martin Motors. Their official site is:
http://www.martinmotors.it/
There you can find technical data and standard equipment of CEO plus some photos. Site is in Italian only. If you want some more info, try contacting them via e-mail.
mimicats2003 01-05-2008, 10:42 AM nice world,nice car,nice develop speed of technology.
chinesecarsreallysuck 01-21-2008, 09:27 AM seriously, that car is nothing compared to a BMW X5... it may look similar, but i am 100 % sure that it drives like sh*t. i mean: 125 horsepower? in a car that weighs more then 2 ton?!? have we returned to the 60? AND because it is so cheap, none of the other components can be any good :s why doens't china TRY to make a GOOD quality car for a change? why always try to be the cheapest? And my final point: why copy the design? it isn't allowed, it isn't fair and i am sure they will get into trouble for stealing BMW's design... ohh well I just hate chinese cars btw, for you who didn't notice ;)
mememe 01-21-2008, 09:50 AM Thanks for your comment, and tbh, Chinese carmakers are trying to make a change, they are trying to shed off that image of cheap cars and pay more attention to quality control now and working on their own design with the Italians. But there are still naughty players out there like this Shuanghuan. Players like Chery is really putting a lot of efforts in to make a change.
It's ok to hate, cos only time can tell :)
And not to mention that most of Chinese auto makers are 5-10 years old, they are still learning.
chinesecarsreallysuck 01-21-2008, 10:03 AM true true, we once thought Korean cars were crap ;) and now everyone buys them :)
but personnally i encourage Chinese car constructors to develop their own style, not like this Shuanghuan :) and as you say: only time will tell ;)
mememe 01-21-2008, 10:37 AM You can have a look at what another Chinese carmakers are doing , like Chery with their new models and concept, I know people still remember Chery as a Daewoo matiz cloner. And BYD just passed an Euro Ncap with quite decent result despite being just 4 years old (although that model is a Toyota Corolla clone :D ) . And you may be aware of the C-Ncap that helps to monitor the safety standards of cars in China (testing speed is 56 kmph compared to 64 kph of Euro Ncap) , the quality and safety standards of Chinese cars are expected to rise in the comming years, but I won't be making too many predictions though, it is all up to them.
But tbh, I do like your comments about quality and design. I think Chinese automakers still have quite a long way to travel in regards to those, there are still quite many Chinese players out there that do not obey the rules.
chinesecarsreallysuck 01-23-2008, 02:20 PM oh well, fortunately for me, i like cars in general, i 'm not really that brand addicted and i don't really care where the cars come from :) as long as they are good designed, built and drive well ;) so actually looking forward to the future ^^ the more car manufacturers, the better i say ;)
hello 01-24-2008, 10:38 PM shuanghuan is a bad example to look at the integrity of chinese vehicles

Rally Red Lancer GTS 07-11-2008, 01:19 AM Really a nice exterior design. Interior looks impressive as well....they did a good job with the steering wheel. Nice use of the brushed aluminum inside. A nice effort there. Wasn't sure of that taillight design until I saw the straight-on shot from behind. It comes off very well.
Is this company solid with their past history of building and installing powertrains and has their reliability been good?
mememe 07-11-2008, 03:32 AM ye impressively copied
The Great Wall 08-10-2008, 06:09 AM I actually prefer this over the BMW X5. The exterior is far more interesting and I love that rear-end treatment and the interior looks very classy and the seats look comfy too. I love this SUV that much that now I have an avatar of it.

also for off road CEO don't have 4L mode, and in 4H mode it's difficult to drive in on hill roads,also rear part of car want go on "his way" becase of coil spring at the back
another problem is also a steering wheel which have very big turning diameter, you must almost turn whole wheel if you want the car to start turning

big wheels
But if that left front wheel were to run with that amount of negative camber there might be some pulling to one side, as well as tire wear........
Thank you Micodelija for that fine first hand feedback about the CEO performance.

mmmm interesting. thanks for this info.
4L mode is important for going really off road.
how many turns until the steering wheel locks? is it really that much of a problem?
micodelija 12-10-2008, 11:46 AM yeah, simply "kills" that good drive feeling, when I drive in hover I enjoy to drive it, it goes very well on off road, also on road with plenty of curves, especially in 4h model...there is no curve which you can pass with high speed, traction of vehicle is very good also in 2h mode, also on highway you can drive it alomost 190,hover also wount "brake your back" when you pass over a bump, while in shuanghuan it hurts, also in hover i can put very easily the LPG sistem
and for shuanguan, best feeling i had when i drive that car on the highway, other didn't impress me, don't have good traction, on off road also isn't so good,i stuck in first mud,rear seats don't have such much space like hover had, in 4h mode car is very slow because of that gearbox, that front driver seat is comfortable and have good serial equipment, also that dvd in car could be little bit bigger, it's quite small for a dvd
Audi_Dealer_Spain 04-25-2009, 11:36 AM actually a very good choice price / quality for the European market this car Ceo.
The original XD is very expensive for what it offers today. 人人享有卫生保健

micodelija 06-06-2011, 03:48 PM Just a really small facelift.
A least, we have our proff that Shuanghuan is still alive...
i had chance to drive old model, only difference which i see is new rims, dvd system, new seats, rear muffler package and cruise control, from 2006 year this car don't have almost any changes from outside, i got at home photos from 2006 year only bigger different is new steering wheel
under the hood there is only upgrade of 4g64 engine to 4g69, nothing more
simply shuanghuan should do better, at least they could try to replace front and rear part of car and to install new interior, after 5 years..maybe this should be good enough
