These are pictures of the Hafei Sai Bao V, remarkable enough the sequel to Sai Bao III.

As you can see it doesn't look all too shabby. Only the rubbers for the doorentrance look a bit poor fit and the chair misfits in two corners with the plastic that holds it. Then again: this car is quite nice, isn't it?

More interestingly, these are pics of the Sai Bao V that were taken on the Shanghai Automotive 2005. This appears to be the version that will be exported to Europe, rather than the black one up above.

these are both very nice nice cars...but i like grandeur better in terms of upper class car...these cars are better for middle class family

I think the badges of every chinese cars except chery and geely look similar to another company abroad:cool:

I prefer Zhonghua, but these cars aren't so bad. Especially the orange one looks very European - thus decent.

Even Chery's logo isn't all that unique. On a Dutch autoforum the brand keeps getting mixed up with Infinitis.

I saw a couple up in Harbin last week (they are made there), looked good. of course we went through the 'what's that car' conversation in which the first response was 'subaru'. just the wrong number of stars in the badge!

Both are beautifully designed, except I like the rear of the Chinese spec and the front of Export model.

That Hafei car looks nice,very European styling.

Sai Bao V is already on sale in China. But model shown on pictures by daewoo-chevrolet is just a showcar.

Hafei Saibao electric car to sell in US by year end

Shanghai, January 8 (Gasgoo.com) Hafei Automobile Group said it will start volume production of its high-speed Hafei Saibao electric car in late 2009, when the car is also expected to be sold in the US market, the Jinghua newspaper reported Thursday.

The Saibao electric car, developed jointly by Hafei Auto and Tianjin Qingyuan Electric Vehicle Company, is mounted with lithium ion traction batteries and will become the first all-electric vehicle to realize volume production worldwide.

The car passed the test by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) of the United States in late August last year, as China’s first own-brand car that has successfully passed the crash test.

Is the last paragraph true ? Can someone confirm it ?

Strange thing is that the importer of this electric Saibao, Miles Automotive, shows an old Saibao III on its website not the latest Saibao V.
Also Gasgoo doesn't mention which Saibao model. And the Miles website indicates an intro date of Q2 of 2010.
