Here is a new model from Zhongxing called Weihu (Grand Tiger). It was introduced at the Shenzhen car show in August. Grand Tiger series will go on sale in August priced at the lowest 89.8 thousand yuan. There are diesel engines and petrol engines with 2WD and 4WD. It looks quite a lot like the US-made Toyota Tundra.

Actually I maybe incorrect. I read on CSS that the Zhongxing SUV looks to be based onto the Mitsubishi Nativa / Montero Sport / Challenger. Don't know if this is a legitimate use of IP though.

So the Weihu maybe based off of the previous generation Mitsubishi Triton...

The side profiles, cutlines and windows look quite similar imo.

thats a copy of the toyota hilux/tacoma, i don't know why these companies (isuzu, toyota etc.) odn't sue these fools. how lazy have you got to be, people think Porsche are bad but they can argue that they don't want to spoil a winning thing, these chinese car companies can't and are therefore among the worst in the world, even the koreans and malaysians have the dignity to be bought by bigname companies so that they can legally use their designs, seriously someone has gotta tell these companies whats what!:thumb:

The front reminds me of new Mazda BT.

They have Changed so many things in the car, is difficult to know what truck they copied. But from the Front doors design, it must be the previous generation Hilux/Tacoma. It has nothing to do with the mistu L200. The car looks Ok though, I think I could consider one.

Zhongxing pickup Grand Tiger to roll into Poland

July 31, 2008

Shanghai, July 31 (Gasgoo.com) Polish carmaker Pol-Mot Holding is to start assembling the Chinese pick-up Grand Tiger, with the annual output expected to reach 1,500 units, and the first batch of the vehicles will roll off line in September, reported China Business News yesterday

The Grand Tiger pickup is a new model of Hebei Zhongxing Automobile Manufacture Co.Ltd., designed according to the world's latest pickup trend. It belongs to the fifth-generation pickup range as the Toyota Tundra pickup model popular in North America and Nissan Frontier 2006 pickup. The Grand Tiger has editions powered by the 2.7L Toyota (gasoline) engine and the 3.2L Nissan turbo (diesel) engine.

There were 5,900 pickup trucks sold in Poland in 2007, up 160% year on year, with the Nissan Navara pickup as the best-selling brand, which sold 2,500 units that year. Industry expert said that the pickup sales in the Polish market are largely decided by the vehicle's price.

With a population of almost 40 million, Poland is the largest market in Central and Eastern Europe. Since the country became a EU member in 2004, the Polish car market has been flooded with imports of used cars, which reached almost 1 million in 2007. It is only since 2007, that the new car market rebounds.

The Grand Tiger is a small pickup and so cannot be included in the same class as the Tundra and Frontier which have much greater GVWRs. Rather it is closer in size to the Tacoma pickup.
