Tianjin TJ740, first Tianjin's sedan?
While I was reading Wikipedia's article (in English) about FAW Tianjin I found referred a "Toyota look-alike Tianjin TJ740 was also built, although only 63 were finished". I translated the name into Chinese expecting to find an image of it. And I found indeed a single one. Here it is. Enjoy.

Hello PGMJ, yes it is the first sedan made in Tianjin. Not much is known of the vehicle. Alltogether I have found 4 photo's showing about 3 different prototypes. According the books 63 were made between 1973-1978. The engine was a 485Q 1815cc 4 cylinder, delivering 75bhp. Wheelbase 2580mm, LxWxH 4510x1667x1492mm. Maximum speed 140km/h, kerb weight 1350kg.
On my renewed website it is now easier to buy my books, the TJ740 is described in the Beijing/Tianjin book. many greetings! |
