Kawei auto

Re: Kawei auto SUV
So this is another new Chinese brand?
It is identical to Jinbei S50. Both companies probably have the same supplier of body shells. |
Re: Kawei auto SUV
They have a pickup called K1 with the "Ford F-150" face, which they recently displayed.
|
Re: Kawei auto SUV
Something strange with this company. They use JNQ and LT designations, JNQ is from Chunzhou (Mudan), or Zhangjiagang Jiangnan. LT is from YTO (First Tractor). The Kawei K1 pickup (LT1030) has the same front end as the Chunzhou SUV II (JNQ6460). The pickup also exists under the designation JNQ5030 and KWZ5030. Jiangnan is part of Kawei, as I understood it well, but what is the relationship with YTO?
|
Re: Kawei auto SUV
I could not find a direct link between YTO and Kawei but if you look at the specs of these three vehicles (examples only):
KWZ5030XGCE211 (Kawei brand) (Mfr: Jiangsu Kawei Special Purpose Vehicle Manufacturing Co) JNQ5030XYZXK41 (Kawei) (Mfr: Jiangsu Kawei Automobile Industry Group Co) LT1030MCC0 (Fude brand officially) (Mfr: China First Tractor Group Co.), all list LT1030MCC0 as the common chassis. So is it possible that YTO is providing the chassis and Kawei the body, and both are producing the same vehicle at their respective plants? But then why does this YTO-built truck (LT1030MCQ1) display the Kawei logo and K.A.W.E.I.A.U.T.O moniker on its face in pictures? Was it a matter of getting the earliest production approval from the authorities, meaning that all the plants apply, then whoever gets the first nod can start up production, while the partner awaits its turn? I am speculating here, though. Also there is this interesting fact to consider: On this page, Kawei subsidiary Jiangsu Zhongxin Transportation Equipment Co. claims that it has been the body supplier to Huanghai, Brilliance, GAC GONOW, Tianma, Dongfeng, so that likely explains the commonality of the "Kia Sorento" type body of their respective vehicles i.e. Landscape/Qisheng F1, Jinbei S50, Saboo/Aoosed G3, Tianma Hero, Tuyi V20, as well as their own JNQ6460E2. |

dmitra, do you have any information about this pickup?

Re: Kawei auto
Martin, that is an awesome thread you have found !
The maroon pickup is referred to as K1.5 and is a concept for now. That Greenwheel Jummer-like "Hummer" buggy is new to me. Also, the single-cabin and extended-cabin K1 is something not seen previously. See this article for Kawei's future programs: http://auto.hexun.com/2014-01-13/161376963.html http://i4.hexunimg.cn/2014-01-13/161376967.jpg |
K1.5? Seriously?
I hope production version will get more 'normal' name. According to above article, Kawei is also developing another SUV (which looks almost the same as JiangLing S350) and an MPV (a copy of Dongfeng Shuai). |

D Mitra, I doubt that the 'Hummer' is made by Kawei. The logos are different.

Re: Kawei auto
Hello Erik! Here I found something of interest. Apparently it is electric.

The article says it is a Kawei product. Thanks D Mitra.

Re: Kawei auto
I am not for 100% certain but these cars look like they are sold as MEV Hummers in Western Europe and the US. See www.myelectricvehicle.org.

Re: Kawei auto
Very interesting find, Erik. Looks like Kawei or one of their subsidiaries could be a contract manufacturer. No idea though on who is making the Daytona "mini hot rod" but that also seems a converted golf cart.
(BTW, Erik, I am tied up with some business at hand and will reply to your mail soon. Thanks) |

Re: Kawei auto
Did Brilliance take over Kawei?
|
Re: Kawei auto
No, ausrutherford. Recently auto parts maker Beijing WKW Automotive Parts Co. Ltd. took over 35% stake in Jiangsu Kawei. Kawei group was held by two individuals, Minghua Meng and Lijun Jiang, holding 60 and 40 percent respectively. Beijing WKW acquired 21% from both of them as well as 14% by way of newly issued shares.
http://disclosure.szse.cn/finalpage/...1202373149.PDF Beijing WKW also holds a a 48% stake in Wuzhoulong Motors. Beijing WKW is one of the many partly-held Chinese subsidiaries of WKW Erbslöh Automotive GmbH. The Erbslöh group is owned by Walter Klein GmbH & Co. KG of Wuppertal (hence WKW) which is controlled by the Mayer family. Beijing WKW and Wuzhoulong Motors are jointly planning an EV factory in Saxony. |

Have you any information about this H200 clone with Kawei logo ?
I saw it last March in Yinchuan, Ningxia. https://www.chinacarforums.com/forum...1&d=1563805327 Interestingly, it looks like exactly same than H200 Skywell. |
Re: Kawei auto
The JNQ6606BEV series and NJL6601BEV (D12) series were pure electric minibuses from Kawei and Skywell respectively, with the same body.
http://auto-che.com/v/jnq/jnq6606bev6-283-kawei.html http://auto-che.com/v/njl/njl6601bev...u-skywell.html Unfortunately, due to some noncompliance issues (non-submission of an "electric bus safety technical conditions" test report which was required from the manufacturers due to mismatch of declared and actual specifications), the type approval for these vehicles was revoked. http://www.cbea.com/html/www/hydt/20...0c359376c.html http://libattery.ofweek.com/2017-07/...-30152492.html (Use Ctrl+F to find the codes in the list) |
