Where are all the Chinese cars built?
"Of course in China, moron."
No, well...what I shall attempt to do in this thread is list all the current (and new) plants in China where cars are manufactured by the licensed manufacturers. There will be one post that will be updated on an ongoing basis. This will be a "sticky" thread. You can post corrections or updates in replies. I don't think there is any public-domain resource (only paid sites maybe, like MarkLines) which lists this information in English. I will not name models manufactured in the plants because models may be rotated between plants, and that is difficult to track continuously. I will limit myself to plants making cars, SUVs, MPV, minivans (and maybe pickups). Others interested in CVs are welcome to explore and post bus and truck factories. I will use mainly MIIT records and other publicly available sources like news articles or company-published material for the information. The list will be slowly built up, and not in one day. I will not include LSEV manufacturers initially, as their claims are difficult to verify, and maybe later include some of the bigger ones. |

Re: Where are all the Chinese cars built?
Regarding BYD:
I read that from 2014 a plant in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, launched production of K-series and T-Series electric buses. And from April 2015 plant construction began in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, for special-purpose & mining NEVs. I'm sorry I don't have details about these plants. Regarding Brilliance: Shineray Chongqing Automobile Co.,Ltd: Plant No. 2 is located at : No. 17 E. Chaoyang Road, High & New Technology Zone, Mianyang, Sichuan 621000 and: Brilliance engine subsidiary: Xinchen China Power Holdings, Ltd : Science and Technology City, Jianmenlu West No.228, Mianyang, Sichuan 621000 |

The Mianyang Huarui plant (at #3 above) is the same one at No. 17 Chaoyang E. Road. "Gaoxin qu" translated as "High-Tech Zone" in Google, whereas you wrote it as High & New Technology Zone. No Shineray products are currently made there. P.S: I am not putting in entire addresses in my list (though it might reduce confusion) because large complexes usually have more than one street or premises no. associated with it, which might appear to be like two or more plants. I am also checking maps to see if multiple addresses actually refer to one complex. |

Added GAC group. Shifted list to PDF. Corrected a couple of entries under JAC.
Will start on the big groups now. Let me know if any of the smaller manufacturers (NDRC-licensed) have been left out. |

In 2005, Brilliance Auto Group & Shineray Group invested RMB 2 billion to establish Chongqing Shineray Automobile Co., Ltd. Shineray Auto has two plants (Brilliance Auto southern base) respectively located in Chongqing and Mianyang, China, with annual production capacity of 310,000 units. Thanks to you, I see they meant to say that (Brilliance Auto southern ) has two plants. On the lighter side, elsewhere on the website I read as follows: “If the above positions are unsuitable for your speciality or you are born with enthusiasm and insistence like paranoia in automotive field, please send your CV to us.Welcome to Shineray.” I was unable to find either of these entries at the current website. |
Re: Where are all the Chinese cars built?
Updates: Added new plants of GAC (Urumqi), Geely (Guiyang), Zotye (Xiangyang, relocated from Changsha). Added Changfeng Group (4 plants, including new ones in Changsha and Jingmen). Corrected and updated a few street names.

Re: Where are all the Chinese cars built?
Yesterday I mentioned Zotye relocating one operation from Changsha to Xiangyang. This is because Changsha and Linyi plants are being handed over for production of Junma-brand vehicles (news link).
