Hawtai small electric cars
Haoyu EA30 (SDH7000BEVBL6)
Following the recent trend of mainstream manufacturers teaming up with LSEV makers in order to promote NEVs, here is a surprise entry where Hawtai is partnering with Shandong Haoyu Vehicle Co. Ltd. (see post #45) of Laiwu city to market the EA30 small car. Basically it is a copy of the Benben Mini bodyshell (sourced from a third-party supplier) mated with a new front clip. There are other such models abounding in the LSEV market. What is special in the present instance is that this car has managed to receive type approval from NDRC (via Hawtai).
Having produced other Benben Mini-derived models in the past, Haoyu introduced the EA30 at the Jinan fall EV show in August 2015. Hawtai's version will probably be called E20.

Hawtai small electric cars
Although we haven't heard anything more about the Hawtai-Haoyu tieup, another Benben Mini-type EV has been approved by NDRC. This time it looks like Hawtai is partnering with Baoya for a 30-kW version of their Yabei small car.
Hawtai's third attempt at launching a small NEV procured from an LSEV manufacturer. In this case, we have our old friend from Rainchst, the LeiJun, a version of which is already serving duty as Jiangling's JMEV E100.
Powered by a 20 kW motor, the EV160 is capable of a max. speed of 100 km/h.

AutoHome article on the (old) Baoya Yabei-based NEV to be launched as Hawtai EV160 in March. See previous post related to this.
A Rainchst Ruiyi L3 (formerly LeiJun) based Hawtai EV160 (link) has also been under consideration.
A new Yabei has been introduced not too long ago.

The EV160R, an NEV based on the Rainchst Ruiyi V8 is to be launched next week. Hawtai's previous small NEV, EV160 based on the Baoya Yabei, has been renamed EV160B as a consequence.

New thread created. Although Haoyu cars weren't ultimately introduced by Hawtai, the first two posts are included for context.
