An electric version of the Qoros 3 (bodystyle unknown) was rolled out recently at a ceremony in the Changshu, Jiangsu plant.
Of note, no electric Qoros has yet been type approved by NDRC.
Although sales of "3" remain poor (~700 units monthly average in 2018), they are still better than what they were under Chery/Kenon management. Nevertheless, Baoneng's emphasis has been on pushing more sales of the "5" and that car has seen a major improvement in sales, averaging about 4,500 units a month this year, compared to about 1000 p.m. in 2017. (Here sales mean wholesales. Retail sales are yet to rise up to a significant level and are about half of what I mentioned in this paragraph)
Let's see how Baoneng's crazy plan to introduce 21 new "models" by 2022
pans out. I cannot place much confidence in a move that dumps even more models on top of a crowded market where 600+ models already jostle for attention. But then, perhaps Baoneng knows better.
