The Shanghai SH761 parade car is developed in competition with Hongqi. It was designed by the Shanghai Auto Works in 1965 and introduced in May 1966. Form 1965-171 14 units were made and we are happy that there are still four cars left. The car is indeed much bigger than the standard SH760 but uses the same 2223 cc 6 cylinder (Mercedes copy) engine.
Two cars still to see are in Luo Wenyous collection in Huairou and in Liu Xiangyangs collection in Dalian. The other two belong to a hotel in Shanghai. You can find more about these museums on my website: http://www.chinesecars.net/index.php?page=60
and more about the car itself in my historial document 'Shanghai, saloons from teh artisan era', on my website: http://www.chinesecars.net/index.php?page=4
