Our police cars in the Philippines are not so special.

A bunch of Toyota Corolla Altis 9th Generation, some Chevrolet Optras, Mitsubishi New L200 Strada, Toyota Hilux, Nissan Patrol Safari, Isuzu Fuego & DMAX's.

Fast cars are quite useless here. The police doesn't need one because of the bad traffic. Thankfully, those who are speeding are captured by speed cameras. Those who are really into speeding and racing illegally crashes thereby flying off from the bridge.

@Martin,

Your Police force are fortunate to have those Toureg as their vehicle. Here in the Philippines, you are fortunate to see one of these running on the streets escorted by highly trained guards. I can only dream of destroying them because I wanted to know how tough it is.

Here's some police cars from NZ. We use a mix of Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore (Buick Park Avenue in China) for our police cars with usually wagons for K-9 units.

Standard police car (older model shown)

Highway Patrol (2008 Model Commodore with old style lights, newer ones are flatter.)

Previous scheme (these are Nissan Maximas for driver training)

And here's something you didn't know about NZ. At age 15, you can learn the Road Code and go for a learners licence which means you can drive a car with someone who has a full licence in it also. After about six months you can go for a restriced licence which means that you can drive on own but passengers have to be family or related. Not that anyone does for that matter.

We use Volvo's and Vauxhall's a lot in Britain.
The Vauxhall Astra is a work car, where as the Volvo is more special unit. The Ford Focus is sometimes seen as well. We even had Vectra's once as Police Car's. And even the iconic Mini got it's chance!

The G/B (above) is kinda what people think off when we say British Police Car.

The H/C (above) is a updated model and looks a little less bland.

The Volvo (below), as far as I know is in a estate form when used by police.

Jag's were and are being reconsidered as police car's.

our patrols have skoda ocatvia models and small skoda fabia for patroling, croatia just order 600 new skodas, highway patrol mainly drive bigger compact cars like mercedes c class, ford mondeo, honda accord and skoda superb, all of them are top versions but under civil look without any marks on them, intervent police have mitsubishi pajero, land rover defender and mercedes g class and sprinter van, all new models

most intresting is those "undercover" police officers, they are driving old cars like ford fiesta, golf III and those olders cars

The Aussie police use XR8, SS Commodores and XR6 Turbo falcons as pursuit cars. Some states limit all police cars to V6 or straight six cars due to OH&S issues.

But there's a general movement to Lancers and Camrys as general duties cars.

They also tried to move to LPG cars with complete failure.
