A new crossover from SAIC-GM, provisionally called Encore GX, has been revealed in MIIT's Notice #318. It is longer than the new Encore, also published in #318.
Dimensions & wheelbase:
New Encore: 4295 x 1798 x 1607/1616 mm; 2570 mm
New Tracker: 4270 x 1791 x 1610/1627 mm; 2570 mm
Encore GX: 4463 x 1813 x 1642/1644/1653 mm; 2640 mm
The Encore GX is powered by the 1341 cc, 116 kW engine.
The Tracker (JBUC) and new Encore (JBUB) are projects of SAIC-GM Norsom in Shenyang (link) and are based on the GEM JBXX platform.
The Encore GX (9BYB) is a project of SAIC-GM Dongyue in Yantai (cached link). Its wheelbase is 2640 mm, the same as Excelle GT/GX and Monza, but the latter are products of SAIC-GM Wuhan (PATAC-K family) based on a Gamma II/G2XX-derived platform, whereas the Encore GX is based off the new modular 9BXX. It is reasonable to assume there will be a Chevrolet version of this as well (9BYC). There is provision for 9BXX-based SWB CUVs (9BUB/C), slotting between the Encore/Tracker and Encore GX, but development of those is likely being carried out in Korea.
