Well, I guess that many Chinese have vague notions of Europe. Just like lots of westerners are mistaking Chinese for Korean or Japanese.
So, in order to make it look classy, the Lotus/Proton were marketed as "European". |

Americans are lumping China cars in with "Asian" cars in general, to a degree. But you may have noticed that they categorize the Chinese cars as the worst. Like they're out to get them or something. Like lead-tainted painted Chinese toys for American consumption, or...something.

On their website, Lotus-Youngman claimed they exported some L4 in 2010. I thought that their agreement with Proton and Lotus forbid them to sale cars outside China.
Anybody heard anything about Lotus-Youngman outside China? |
