what a beautiful machine.

I would say roewe is my favorite luxury auto, not only in china, but in the world. It beats these piece of sh*t cadillacs we have in the E.E.U.U

The future Roewe SUV, based on the Ssangyong Kyron, was spotted out testing recently, this time with the Gillete Razor like front grill that will come as standard on new Roewe cars in 2009.
The Ssangyong range of motors is still Korean produced, but the Kyron line may well come to China to produce the Roewe SUV.

Translated article from AutoWeek.nl with Google Translate:

Quote:
SsangYong Kyron becomes Roewe

In China the ever so noble British brand Rover quietly begun a new life under the name Roewe. The following model is a SUV, which is heavily based on the SsangYong Kyron.
In 2006, China presented the Roewe 750, which is a direct descendant of the Rover 75. Meanwhile, a new middle class under the name 550 and produced the following addition to the program, this SUV. He will be based on the technique of the SsangYong Kyron. That's no coincidence, as well as Roewe SsangYong fall under the flag of the huge Chinese SAIC group.
The front of the Roewe SUV is completely redesigned, at the rear is to see that in each case and the rear lights are different from those of the SsangYong. The engine range is also equivalent to that of the South Korean product: a 2.0-liter diesel with 141 horsepower and a 2.7-liter with 165 horsepower.
Whether this Roewe ever see on our roads is still in demand. There was once talk of that SsangYong including in our country would be exchanged for Roewe. In Great Britain is still a hot-beating heart for Rovers, so it is likely that SAIC brand that there is going to export. The Chinese Nanjing, that after the bankrupt MG Rover-MG bought, has been the TF back into production. In China, the Roewe SUV in each case in the first half of 2009 in the showrooms expected.

Roewe SUV - clearest shots to date!

Quote:
SAIC’s design team have been busy building a Roewe brand that they can push to the world, first it started with the Roewe 750 2.5V6 (which looks just as elegant as ever) and then the 750 1.8T, the stunning Roewe 550, and now a rebranded Ssangyong Kyron SUV, which is expected to be the next big Roewe product.

We dont know why, but it seems SAIC cant keep a lid on any of its future secret cars, the whole world knew about the Roewe 550 a whole year before it actually made it to the market, and this rebranded SUV appears to be no different! The badge on the hood, rather than in the grill, appears to have become a Roewe ‘trademark’, but somehow on this SUV, it looks rather poorly executed.

The operation of the SAIC Roewe only version of the Ssangyong Chairman, also the main production of the SUV models Shuanglong --- Royal entitlements. Trust is positioning itself as "SUV experts" at the Shuanglong design on this car will not be disappointed. Ssangyong cars compared with the prototype, before and after the appearance of SAIC conducted its small-scale changes. With 3.2L engine, so that the exercise of considerable. There is no doubt that Rongwei OEM's production of this "entitlement Royal", with its wheelbase body size in particular, would drive him to open up a space for unique market segments. However, even after the listing of its face can not be avoided directly competing goods should also be based Dongfeng Honda CRV, Dongfeng Nissan novel Chun, FAW Toyota, the new RAV4 compact to represent the main class of the hot SUV products.
