Does anyone know who the producer of this Hiace lookalike is?

To me, the logo on pictures I published looks like double chevron (like Citroen uses) in roundel. I don't recognize stylized Great Wall in it.
Your Proteus indeed wears old GWM badge.

It is indeed King Long XMQ6520.
