While the ID.3 is long overdue, the electric SUV VW ID.4 shows up in China where its production began, revealing two different versions “X” and “Crozz”.

Despite the colossal investments and the presentation very far upstream, the Volkswagen ID.3 failed to kick off. However, the brand’s second new generation electric vehicle should stick to its agenda. Although the Covid-19 aborted the presentation of the final version, scheduled for April, production has already started at the FAW-VW factory in Foshan (China) on June 15.

While the German group probably planned to organize a new event to present its electric SUV from every angle, the Chinese media seem to have stolen the politeness. The auto163 site thus discloses the two versions provided by the manufacturer. Very close, these are marked by a few differences: shields, grille, rocker panels and tail light strip. Gray is called ID.4 X, while ID.4 Crozz in white is more adventurous. In dimensions, the imposing SUV is 4.61 and 4.59 meters long, 1.63 to 1.64 m high and 1.85 m wide. The weight of the vehicle would be around 2,130 kg, still according to the Chinese site. The manufacturer should also offer two-color liveries, here with a brown or red roof.

However, these photos are not accompanied by precise technical data. However, we learn that there is a 150 kW motor at a speed bridged to 160 km / h. In Europe, the Volkswagen ID.4 will no doubt take over the 5 engines of the Skoda Enyaq. The maximum charging power would be 150 kW, astonishing knowing that the Czech cousin is limited to 125 kW. The maximum range would be around 500 kilometers, without knowing the size of the batteries. On the Skoda, the packs offered vary from 55 to 82 kWh
