Introducing: CHANGFENG YANGZI

CHANGFENG YANGZI is one of the many companies offering pickup's and pickup-based SUV's. Many of the models are based on old Isuzu and Toyota cars. Company is located in the city of Chuzhou in Anhui province in eastern China.

FACTS:


- company was founded in 1993

- in 2005 Changfeng (maker of Mitsubishi all-terrain models) bought the
company

- factory area: 250 000m2

- workforce: 809 people (in 2005)

- in 2003, Yangzi manufactured 13 180 cars and in 2004, 18 000 cars

- in the next three years Yangzi has invested over 500 million Yuan (or 50m
€) to achieve a production level of 100 000 cars a year

Currently there are five models offered. These are:


- YZK 6480 "Gold Unicorn" (SUV) 2003-
- Lucky Bell (pick-up) 2000-
- YZK 6480 "Lucky Bell" (SUV) 2000-
- YZK 1020 "Lucky Bell" (Pick-up, facelift) 2004-
- YZK 6498 "Travel" (Pick-up) 2001-

Also some buses with a passenger capacity of 12 to 19 are produced.

It seems that after the acquisition of Changfeng by Guangzhou Auto (GAC), and the delisting of Changfeng from the Shanghai stock exchange, the names Changfeng Auto and Changfeng Yanzi ceased to exist, and were replaced by the GAC subsidiary's "Liebao" brand, now produced by Hunan Liebao and Anhui Liebao respectively.
