Intro about JMC:
Jiangling Motors Corp is a former state-owned truck company which first struck an international deal in 1984 when they made a technical transfer agreement with Isuzu. Then in 1995 Ford bought a 20 per cent stake in the company. It is now producing the Transit for local markets. Jiangling Motors has 19 subsidiaries, including Landwind off-roader and other pick-up trucks. In July, 2005 Chongqing Chang'an Automobile Co., Ltd received permission to take control over Jiangling Motors. pick-up Baodian: http://www.chinamobil.ru/photos.php?modelid=104 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Ownership of JMC is a complex one. Chang'an owns some of JMC in conjunction with others. The Nanchang city municipal government, owner of Jiangling Motors Company Group, is a stakeholder by way of its 50% share of Jiangling Holding Company, in which Chang'an also owns half.
Ford raised its stake in JMC to 30 from 20% in 1999. Dutch rally driver Peter Bijveld, like Ford, saw something in JMC that looked worth investing in. And so he took on the role of importer for Landwind in Europe back in 2005. I believe about 30% of JMC is owned by the public. Jiangling-Isuzu is a subsidiary of JMC and Isuzu holds a 12.5% stake in it. Besides just JMC, Isuzu has made a profound impact on China's SUV and pick up truck design and manufacture. |

Jiangling Yunba seems to be based on Isuzu Midi van (WFR).
The light truck shown above is a 'Kaiyun' series truck. Older version is also available (see below); Qingka -series which is based on Isuzu NHR. ![]() First Transit was built in December 1997. It has received many facelifts since then, I think last one was in 2005. ![]() again Yunba: ![]() ![]()

We have just concluded negotiations to distribute JMC vehicles. The one concern I have about their line-up is that they have only one basic engine, the Isuzu -based 4jb1 2.8l engine. They even install this engine on the FORD TRANSIT! Aside from the Ford Transit, w/ch I know is selling very well in China, how well are the other JMC models doing?
