Some information about Delica:
Mitsubishi developed the Delica Space Gear to provide full features of the “Super Leisure RV” combining sedan levels of ride comfort with outstanding versatility and vehicular performance. The RV was built on the ladder frame chassis, and features a high floor level from the ground. The one-box off-road vehicle recently underwent a minor model change. Engine variation was reduced to 2 types: 3.0-liter V6 and 2.8-liter inline 4-cylinder engine (with an intercooler turbocharger).

New Future is rebadged Taiwanese Mitsubishi Space Gear which was developed by China Motors:

About China Motors:
China Motors Co. (CMC) was established by Jingling Yen in 1969 and signed a technical cooperation agreement with Mitsubishi Motors of Japan a year later. Production of Mitsubishi commercial vehicles started in 1973. Today CMC is Taiwan's largest maker of truck and vans, owned 15 per cent by Japan's Mitsubishi Motors Corp. The company's China Motor Asia Research & Technology Center (CARTEC) developed the Dynamic Family Wagon, called the Freeca, basically an Asian Utility Vehicle for Mitsubishi. In the past few years, the CARTEC-developed Freeca has been one of the best-selling commercial/RV models in both Taiwan and other Asian markets.

The Mitsubishi-based Future MPV is actually old technology but it has proven to be a great success for Dongfeng. I believe it goes under the name "Fengxing" and ranks about 4th among MPV sales in China behind SGM's GL8. It's got a solid reputation for quality.

The new version looks very nice. Is there a link between China Motors and Donfeng Liuzhou? Over at Soueast Motor Corp, China Motors owns a 25% stake in that company.

This Future model is another example of how deeply Mitsubishi technology has penetrated the Chinese auto industry.

Re: Dongfeng Liuzhou (Chenglong) Future & New Future

The grille re-design on the New Future cheapens it in my opinion. The old horizontal bar grille gave it a simple but distinctive look.
But fortunately they haven't changed the bumper much; it still has that bold and brawny look.
