Note that the Daqing is the one plant making both short- and long-wheelbase versions though the SWB (L 4963 mm; WB 2941 mm) is not sold locally. Plants in Torslanda, Sweden and Shah Alam, Malaysia produce only SWB models. The Swedish-made S90 is still sold far and wide (in Australia or India, for example), however, the proportion of S90 in the Swedish product mix is expected to dwindle (due to increased volumes from Daqing and the new XC60 requiring assembly space in Torslanda).

2018 Volvo S90 (Euro-spec, SWB)

Pictures of 2018 Volvo S90 from dealer listings in Europe (Reezocar). According to members on some Volvo-related forums, all Euro-spec S90 for 2018 and later are sourced from China. This is, of course, the standard-wheelbase model (L: 4963 mm; WB: 2941 mm).

With the tooling up for the new V60 (V432) going on in Torslanda to prepare for pilot production in the next quarter, and with three very successful models (XC90, V90, XC60) already coming off the assembly lines, there happens to be no room to accommodate the S90 anymore.

Volvo S90 assembled in India

Volvo has officially started assembling the S90 in India. Local assembly of Volvo cars began last October with the XC90. Since Volvo Cars/Geely has no factory in the country, the cars are produced at Volvo Trucks' local joint venture facility (VE Commercial Vehicles) at Hoskote, Karnataka.

S90 T8 (408 hp, PHEV, LWB) now available to Chinese customers. Available in the signature 3-seat Excellence as well as 4-seat version, both priced identically.

At 1,088,000 RMB I believe it would be the most expensive series-produced local car* in the market.
