And there's even a third partner of Hyundai in China: Hengtong Huatai Motors which has been assembling CKD Terraca SUV for years and has just launched the Santa Fe, both under the Hyundai brand. These two models are being made in Huatai's Rongcheng plant of Shandong Province, which has close trading ties with S Korea.

Huatai also has a plant in Yanbian, the so called Korean Autonomous Prefecture in northern China, that makes large and medium size buses but with very poor sellings.

Check out the official website of Huatai Hyundai:

BEIJING-JEEP WARRIOR

Beijing-Jeep's new army jeep replaces the old BJ2020.

CHANGFENG LIEBAO

Two concepts from Liebao. First one is a huge "CS6" Concept.

Second concept is "CS7". This design is familiar; a year ago three-door version of this design was first seen.

Im in Beijing now - was here over the weekend. Car show was great but REALLY crowded - especially the supercar section. I thought I was used to the Chinese crowds (Chinese crowds are like Christmas shopping crowds in the west, but they are every day rather than once a year!) amazingly busy, but some good shows by the individual manufacturers.

SAIC's new Roewe 750 was one of the big stars of the show. Also a hybrid version was released.

HAFEI

Hafei Saibao V Sports with a 1,8L DOHC engine. Prices ranging 83,800 - 99,800 yuan. Looks very good ! Way to go Hafei :thumb:

HONGQI

Interesting new Red Flag concept "C601". 0 to 100km/h in 9 sec. Top speed 220km/h. It's a modern design and worthy of carrying Hongqi badge.

DONGFENG

Dongfeng's new hybrid (based on Dongfeng-Nissan Bluebird)

I think I have now covered all new cars from the Beijing Show. Here's a list of other new cars which were released on Chinese market or have been introduced earlier in this forum.

Byd F3 Electric
Byd F8
Chang'an CV6
Chery Karry (A18)
Chery S12
Chery V2
Chrysler 300C
FAW-VW Bora HS
Geely Kingkong
Nissan Livina Geniss
Skoda Octavia
SsangYong Kyron
Suzuki SX4 (YY5)
Toyota Corolla
Toyota Prius II

According to my calculation at least 50 new cars were released in the show (if I include concepts).

Huanghai, not Huatai

......(But what is Huanghai ??? A new joint-venture ?)

No one in his right mind would claim that the Chinese Auto Industry is not more than a bit confusing. But for Automotive News in its post-Beijing show edition (www.autonews.com November27) to slight the beloved and venerable sage Confucius when they themselves got confused, is truly sophomoric and conveys a certain Western snobbery.

As for Huanghai Raul, it is part of the SG Automotive Group (Shuguang) based in Dandong, Liaoning, and ironically located just across the Korean border. And as far as I can tell it never had an agreement with Korea's Hyundai as Real I Hate claims. He is confusing Huanghai with Hengtong Huatai over in Shandong Province. In my view SG shouldn't jeapordize its great axle making business by risking legal conflicts like this with Hyundai and GM (over its lookalike pickup).
