2018 GAC Toyota Camry

What a grille!
That mouthful of unmistakeable raw plastic is very unbecoming....and the glossy plastic (chicken wire), of other Camry offerings, looks almost as chintzy. What's the deal with the faux air intake on the outsides?
Perhaps it can be attributed to current efforts to reduce weight.....,
or perhaps to cut costs, in order to keep up with the frenetic drive toward electrification, and autonomousy.
