A piece from autoremarketing.com reports on Hyundai's latest achievement in the U.S.:

...the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) 2009 Light-Duty Automotive Technology and Fuel Economy Trends Report found that Hyundai has the highest MY 2009 laboratory 55/45 fuel economy with 30.1 miles per gallon.

"Hyundai is also the only automaker to top 30 mpg in the report (for cars and trucks combined)," according to officials.

Both Toyota and Honda were at 29.7 and 29.4 respectively.
Lets hope that such competition continues to rev up globally. Then we can all reap the benefits.....

Hyundai and Kia both are doing so well it's nothing short of spectacular. I prefer Kia's stable of vehicles over Hyundai but Hyundai is no slouch by any stretch. I am grateful that Hyundai rescued Kia in the fall of 1998.
