Contrary to expectations, although the Zhidao did start life as the second-generation D70, it will not be replacing the Xingneng bǎn (ex-D70) at the present juncture. It is priced significantly cheaper than its predecessor; in fact, is quite inexpensive for its class (size) of vehicle. Even the Senova D60 was priced higher, compared to the Zhidao now, when that existed on the market.

The Zhidao is powered by a 1.5T 150 hp engine, is 4785 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2780 mm. In comparison, the Xingneng bǎn currently gets just the 1.8T 177 hp unit, is 4861 mm long and has a slightly shorter, 2755 mm wheelbase.
