Beiqi Yunnan Ruili Automobile Co., Ltd. is a joint-venture company based in Ruili, Yunnan, set up in late 2013 in association with the Yunnan Jingcheng Group, owners of China's Ruili Airlines and other industries.

BAIC Ruili also has a cooperation agreement with the Loncin group and Lichi for the development of new energy vehicles.

Currently the company makes some BAIC BJ40 and the Doda V2, a variant (yes, another one!) of the Weiwang M20. Production officially began in July 2015. According to reports, a portion of the production is intended for cross-border sales in Myanmar. An SKD assembly plant in Myanmar has also been planned.

Edit:

Of note, the V2 looks identical to this police vehicle (BJ5020XQCBKV1A) except for logo/badge which identifies this as a Weiwang M20.

Doda V8

Recently, articles have been published on a new MPV, very closely resembling the Joylong IFly (very likely also based on it) called the Doda V8. This was revealed around the time of the Beijing Show, but not at the Show, so has not received any major attention.

Except for length, specifications are identical (dimensions, engine model and performance) with those of the IFly. Because of the different grille and front bumper there is a difference of 45 mm (4900 mm vs. IFly 4855 mm )

It seems that production has not really begun; the plant is yet to be completed as the body shop and paint shop are not ready but are expected to be this year. So the "production" that occurred in July 2015 was largely ceremonial. Some SKD assembly could have taken place, however.

Interesting is the fact that BAIC Ruili will also be engaged in marketing Lichi LSEVs.

Doda cars

Apparently some BAIC products, named Doda, are offered for export as seen on this site:

Doda Warrior
Doda H2
Doda A4 (Joylong A4)
Doda Pick-Up (ZXAuto Grandtiger)

Obviously these have nothing to do with the Ruili enterprise.

The Joylong IFly was supposed to have been imported into Vietnam as the Joylong Doda 2.4 (link). However, it seems that the new version, the V8, will be offered instead (link with multiple photos).

Doda V8 (HKL6490)

Plant completion was announced in December with ceremonial roll-out of first "production" Doda V8, although there is no news of regular serial production/KD assembly commencing at Ruili.

Interestingly, as of now, Joylong has the license for Doda V8 per the MIIT/NDRC database, and production location is shown as Yangzhou, Jiangsu (link: see third photo)

It has a similarity to the 3rd Generation Toyota Alphard/Vellfire.
