Chongqing Bisu Automobile Co., Ltd is a company belonging to the Yinxiang group and an associate of BAIC Yinxiang. Their plants are located in the Hechuan Industrial Park in Chongqing. The company was formerly known as Beijing Kaite Special-Purpose Vehicle Co., Ltd. (Notice Item 3). Recently, BAIC Yinxiang and Bisu have undertaken a project to expand production capacities of their respective units to a combined 800,000 vehicles per year (Link -- 2nd para).

Both BAIC Yinxiang and Chongqing Bisu have entered into agreements with Chongqing Bisu Yunbo Power Technology Co., Ltd, owned by Hong Kong-based Excel Development (Holdings) Ltd., which is currently establishing an engine production line. (Link)

The BT3 (codename S25) is Bisu Auto's first product to be revealed and it does look like a smaller LR Discovery Sport.

Bisu T3 & T5 (Iran)

Safe Khodro, a distributor of Subaru cars till recently (as import of Subarus has been restricted due to sanctions) has teamed up with Bisu Auto to launch the T3 and T5 SUVs in Iran. Bookings are opening shortly.

The vehicles will be assembled by SKD method, initially with minimal localization. Two years ago, Safe Khodro acquired shares of the dormant company Morattab Industrial Manufacturing Co. (a.k.a. Morattab Khodro) and began work on reviving the factory. As some may be aware, Morattab is a 60-year-old auto company best known for making the Pazhan and Herour off-roaders -- based on Santana-made classic Land Rovers -- for most of its active phase. The company also assembled Ssangyong Musso, Rexton, and Gonow G5 SUVs before ceasing production in late 2015.
