Brilliance strikes again

Brilliance was proposed some time to conquer the European market and the best way to do so was starting with the largest volume of sales, namely the German. With an initial setback due to a high price of BS6 and some fairly disastrous crash test, now attack again in the Chamber of Automobile Leizpig with an offer improved and more attractive.

To begin the BS6, now with three star Euro Ncap (the same as an Alfa Romeo 147 for example) reduces its price up to € 19,990 for the base model. It has the same origin Mitsubishi engine with two-litre 122 hp but with improvements to reduce consumption. The equipment includes air conditioning, four elevalunas, four airbags and ABS + EBD among other things.

But the big news is the arrival of BS4, a sedan of 4.6 meters and a cost of demolition from € 15,990. The best part is that besides being a vehicle modern equipment includes a full fee for that because we take away air conditioning, ABS + EBD, traction control, audio equipment and four airbags. Engine access to the range is home Mitsubishi, with 1.6 liters and 100 hp.

The range of engines of BS4 be completed in September with engine 1.8i 16v 136 hp with five speeds and change with the 1.8i Turbo 170 hp coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox or an automatic four. Not particularly conspicuous by their performance but will have a very comfortable ride and consumption are not very high.

The range BS4 is offered with three trim levels and also commented on the base model "Comfort" version can be purchased at "Luxe", which adds the post parking sensor, automatic climate control, alloy wheels, fog lamps, trim more showy, details simile aluminium wheel and shift knob of leather, and so on. The finished "Turbo" will sunroof, leather upholstery, electric and heated seats, 17-inch tires, front parking sensor, integrated navigation system, speed control, rain sensor and details simile wood, sports seats, and so on.

Finally in Leizpig also show the BC3 Coupe, available only 1.8i Turbo engine with 170 hp and manual gearbox, and that time again test the market for possible introduction in the short term. It is certainly the most attractive model for the signing, with some finished and made quite a generous equipment. The main sticky is the absence of ESP, something happens in the other models of the signature, even though they are working with BOSCH to offer as soon as possible.

Brilliance also seem to finally begin exporting to other markets, including the Spanish and Portuguese but still do not have an arrival date closed, it could take again.

Do people really care about NCAP. What about the thousands of pre 80's vehicles still on the road. My car back in Australia is a 71 VW Superbug (been in my familly since new) and I dont worry about NCAP at all. If you think back when did NCAP start. i think people place too much reliance on it - if you hit a truck no NCAP rating is going to help you.

China's Brilliance BS6 well short of sales target in Germany.

17.04.2008 - The Chinese-built Brilliance BS6 is currently running well below its sales target in Germany, with just 180 units getting sold there since the vehicle went on sale last July. Originally, the German importer said they had expected the car to hit a 500-unit mark.

Click to enlargeOne of the reasons for the Brilliance BS6's poor market performance in Germany could be that the Chinese-made vehicle was awarded just one out of the possible five stars in a Euro NCAP crash test. Following some major overhaul work, the BS6 was subsequently awarded three stars.

In August, the Brilliance BS6 will be joined by another Chinese-made model, the BS4, which is expected to sell 4,000 units a year.

No probs :)

So I have read the thread, seems they will be selling the improved BS6 in Germany this summer, are those prices confirmed?

Also it would be interesting to see what they would do to the earlier version BS6 they sold (about 180 units ?).

Brilliance Motors joins forces with renowned German football club.

22.8.2008 - HSO Motors Europe, the general importer of the Brilliance car brand in Europe, is to become Champion Partner of the German Premier League football team Borussia Dortmund (BVB) and consequently the exclusive automotive partner of BVB.

In Germany, Brilliance Motors Deutschland GmbH will be using this sponsorship to emotively bond brand association among club supporters and football fans. Says Hartwig Hirtz, Managing Director of Brilliance Motors Deutschland: “In BVB, we have found the ideal partner to start our commitment to football.” Football is not just the core of BVB, but has a fascination for Brilliance that far transcends any financial involvement.

“We are delighted to welcome Brilliance as a dynamic company whose ambitious goals suit those of Borussia Dortmund,” emphasised Hans-Joachim Watzke, Board Chairman of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA.

“We are looking forward to a long-term partnership and will be pleased to be able to contribute to the brand positioning of Brilliance in Germany via the Borussia Dortmund platform,” added Stefan Heitfeld, head of Sportfive, the Dortmund-based marketing partner of BVB.

HSO and Brilliance Motors Deutschland are planning a long-term co-operation with BVB. A fixed contract has already been concluded for the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons and an option to extend has been agreed upon.

BVB is not just very popular as a traditional club, but well-known for its very large and loyal fan base. “This is why BVB was the partner we were looking for,” says Hartwig Hirtz.

On October 25, Brilliance Motors Deutschland will be celebrating the introduction of the BS4 range at over 120 dealers. With full equipment, this compact 4-door sedan featuring stylish Pininfarina design is on sale for EUR 15,990.

HSO Motors Europe declares bankruptcy!

Brilliance German importer HSO Motors Europe declares bankruptcy.

http://www.auto-news.de/auto/news/a...porteur-HSO-Motors-meldet-Konkurs-an_id_25598

After nearly four years of construction work is the Brilliance brand before Off. The importer HSO Motors Europe, who drove the brand, now had to file for bankruptcy. Made an end of the Chinese brand, the market crisis.

HSO: competitive rebates are to blame
Brilliance wanted his vehicles - including the sale BS4 saloon - especially on price. But by the "Manufacturer-price declines in nearly all our competitors," this strategy lost its basis, HSO Motors. Thus, the brand makes the discounts in the competing models responsible. In talks with the Chinese manufacturer, the importer asked for sales support efforts, but without success.

Registration problems due to crash results
The decline of Brilliance and the crash might have contributed to poor results of the vehicles. Accident due to insufficient security BS4 received from the EU, no type approval, so the cars could be admitted only by individual approval.

Brilliance halts European exports

Chinese car maker Brilliance has halted European exports of its BS4 and BS6 saloons in the wake of a lukewarm reception to the two models.

Two unnamed company executives told Reuters that the firm's difficulty in meeting continually evolving European emissions regulations was also a factor in stopping exports.

"We have stopped exports to Europe," said one executive. "For now, we have no timetable for resuming the business." The executive indicated that the firm may return to Europe when its engines are made Euro 5 compliant.

Between 2007 and 2009, Brilliance sold just 502 BS4s and BS6s across Europe, according to industry analyst Jato Dynamics.

Well, after HSO went bakrupt, Brilliance couldn't sell in Europe anyway.

What's more scary is that Brilliance doesn't seem to have much new projets, appart from sporty and crossover versions of existing models.

I hope that the A0 concept will turn into a small hatchback...

This withdrawal doesn't bode well for Brilliance Auto North America, the David Shelburg group that had high hopes of seeing the product introduced in the U.S..
But it seems BANA had grown discouraged over the years and recently were looking into cooperating with BYD. But then that's not likely to happen either as Bershire Hathaway will be calling the shots as shop is set up in Los Angeles.

Just a couple of weeks ago, a rumor about Brilliance abandoning the European market spread online. The media jumped the gun on the story. Brilliance’s distributor in Europe, HSO Motors had declared bankruptcy a year earlier and it appeared that one of the first Chinese forays into the European market had not completely failed, in spite of claims that Brilliance wasn’t giving up just yet.

Without their importer, Brilliance will do it alone this time around. Autohaus Online reports that Brilliance is opening their European headquarters in Ginsheim, Germany under the name “Shenhua Europe GmbH” (Shenhua is Brilliance’s parent company’s Chinese name). Former Hyundai Europe manager Eberhard Niering (left) is the CEO of the new company.

Shenhua Europe will take over operations, dealing with warranties, spare parts and managing dealers. Niering told Autohaus that “Brilliance would like to establish themselves in Europe with their products over the long term.” Now it will depend on Brilliance and their ability to supply competitive vehicles to achieve this goal.

this is good for brilliance, i have meet with mr.niering long time ago and i can say that he is real proffesional and i am sure that he will take care for this job seriusly :thumb:
